Disclosed herein is a transport device comprising a first section of an outer container comprising a shell on the inside having the shape of a spherical cap with an inner diameter and an opening, wherein the opening of the spherical cap faces upwards, and an inner container having an upper section, a lower section and an inner hollow volume defined thereby, wherein at least the lower section has a spherical shape on the outside, the outer diameter of which is smaller than the inner diameter of the spherical cap of the outer container. The inner container is suitable to be arranged in the spherical cap of the outer container in a freely pivotable fashion, and is capable of accommodating a payload.

Transport device with an inner container

The present invention relates to a microtissue compartment device, comprising a compartment structure () having an upper surface () and a lower surface () essentially coplanar thereto, and at least two wells () suitable for accommodating one or more microtissues () in a liquid volume, each well having a lower section () with a given diameter, coaxially oriented thereto an upper section () with an extended diameter, and at least one conduit () fluidically connecting at least two wells to one another, and at least one space () arranged above a well. At least one well has, in its upper section, a relief structure () that prevents spreading or overflow of a liquid volume comprised in said well into space ().

Microtissue compartment device

The invention relates to microcapsules consisting of a polymer degradable by a polypeptide comprising a drug or other compound of interest and a genetically engineered cell expressing said polypeptide in response to a triggering compound, and to methods of directed release of the compound of interest. The preferred polymer is optionally modified cellulose sulfate/poly-diallyl-dimethyl-ammonium chloride. Such microcapsules are non-toxic, do not elicit an immunological response and have an extended half-life time in mammals. The expression system for cellulase is, for example, based on TET and doxycycline, or E.REX and erythromycin. In another example, expression of cellulase is triggered by luteinizing hormone, which can be used for artificial insemination with microcapsules carrying sperm.
