The embodiments described herein provide ranging capabilities in RF-opaque environments, such as a jungle, that preclude the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) and/or laser ranging systems, utilizing transponders and GPS receivers located on aerial vehicles. The aerial vehicles operate above the RF-opaque environment, and communicate with a ranging device within the RF-opaque environment on frequencies that propagate in the RF-opaque environment. The ranging device transmits RF signals to the transponders, which are received by the transponders and sent back to the ranging device. The aerial vehicles also provide their coordinates to the ranging device using their GPS receivers. The ranging device uses information about the transmitted and received RF signals and the GPS coordinates of the aerial vehicles to calculate a distance to a property line from the ranging device, and/or to calculate a coordinate location of the ranging device.

Radio frequency (RF) ranging in propagation limited RF environments utilizing aerial vehicles

The embodiments described herein provide ranging capabilities in RF-opaque environments, such as a jungle, utilizing transponders located on a property line. In particular, the embodiments described herein provide for determining a distance to a property line from a ranging device. The transponders are located on the property line and are separated from each other by a known distance. The ranging device transmits RF signals to the transponders, and receives RF signals returned by the transponders on a different frequency. The ranging device uses information about the transmitted and received RF signals and the known distance to calculate a distance from the ranging device to the property line.

The invention is a system and a device for use in open or minimally invasive surgical procedures, such as a bone implant fixation procedure. The device is configured to perform various functions during a bone implant fixation procedure, including performing at least one of: penetration of a bone to form a hole or opening for receipt of a screw; neuromonitoring, in cooperation with a neuromonitoring device, of the hole during, or post-, formation of the hole so as to sense any nearby nerves adjacent to the hole that may be in the path of a screw, or otherwise affected, when a screw is placed within the hole; neurostimulation, in cooperation with a neuromonitoring device, of nerves adjacent to the hole during, or post-, formation of the hole; and measuring of a depth of the hole and providing a digital measurement of the depth to assist the surgeon in selecting the appropriate length of screw.

The present invention relates to a device, and software and methodology associated with a portable Automated External Defibrillator ('AED'). The portable AED works with a mobile device and software, and includes two or more cardiac pads, a battery pack, and specialized capacitor. When connected to a patient in cardiac arrest, the AED contacts Emergency Medical Services, and records patient information to be transmitted for evaluation by medical providers. The AED is able to analyze cardiac rhythms, suggests administering one or more shocks to the patient in appropriate cardiac arrhythmia, and guides a user on proper CPR technique, if enabled. The AED software can alert other personnel via a mobile device app.
