The modular conical stator pole provides an improved conical stator assembly on electrical machines. The improved conical stator pole assembly comprises a plurality of stator poles, each pole comprising an assembly having a coil secured on a soft magnetic composites (SMC) stator pole tooth by inserting a winding support through the open core of the coil and attaching a back iron and a stator face to either end of the winding support. Each stator pole having a parallelogram shaped cross section for forming a conical shaped rotor space when the stator poles are assembled having the back irons bearing against each other to space the coils apart and form a conical shaped outside profile of the stator pole assembly. The conical stator having a small end and a big end. The tooth comprising a winding support integrally molded with either the back iron or the face.

Manufacture of electric motor component

A modular electric motor stator pole comprising a plurality of independent stator components stacked axially, each stator segment comprising a tooth tip, a back iron and a coil, the tooth tip comprising a stator face and a tooth body, the tooth body having a first end on the tooth tip, a winding support and a second end. The coil having a plurality of windings about an open core, the winding support extending through the open core. The back iron removably attached to the second end of the tooth body and adjacent stator segments are spaced by interfaced adjacent back iron. The modular stator pole assembled with a predetermined number of stator components wherein the design may be changed without retooling the manufacturing facility by adding or subtracting independent stator components from the stack and further the modular design allows replacement or assembly of components in the field.

Modular electric motor with stackable stator poles

A compacted magnetic powder metal component assembly for use in an electrical machine is provided. Each component assembly has a top section and a bottom section. Each top section is comprised of a generally cylindrical center portion, a plurality of winding supports extending radially outward from the center portion and a core segment at a radial edge of each winding support. Each bottom section is comprised of a generally cylindrical center portion, a plurality of winding supports extending radially outward from the center portion, and a core segment in a radial edge of each winding segment support. The top section and the bottom section are combined to form the component assembly.

Magnetic powder metal composite core for electrical machines

A compacted magnetic powder metal component stator for use in an electrical machine is provided. Each stator is comprised of a plurality of stator core assemblies. Each stator core assembly forms an arcuate section of the stator core itself. Each stator core assembly is comprised of an inner shoe component, with winding guides supporting a winding, and at least one back piece and two end caps fitted to the winding on the outer radial edge of the stator assembly.
