Chemical recycling facilities for processing mixed plastic waste are provided herein. Such facilities have the capability of processing mixed plastic waste streams and utilize a variety of recycling facilities, such as, for example, solvolysis facility, a pyrolysis facility, a cracker facility, a partial oxidation gasification facility, an energy generation/energy production facility, and a solidification facility. Streams from one or more of these individual facilities may be used as feed to one or more of the other facilities, thereby maximizing recovery of valuable chemical components and minimizing unusable waste streams.

Chemical recycling of processed mixed plastic waste streams

Processes and systems for making recycle content hydrocarbons, including olefins, from recycled waste material. Recycle waste material may be pyrolyzed to form recycle content pyrolysis oil composition (r-pyoil), at least a portion of which may then be cracked to form a recycle content olefin composition (r-olefin). The r-olefin may then be further separated into product streams in a separation zone downstream of the cracker furnace. The presence of recycle content hydrocarbons may facilitate more efficient operation of one or more distillation columns in the separation zone, including the propylene fractionator.

Processes and systems for making recycle content hydrocarbons through a propylene fractionator

A recycle content ethylene is fed to a reactor to make propionaldehyde having recycle content. The recycle ethylene feedstock is derived directly or indirectly from the cracking of recycle content pyrolysis oil. The cracking of the pyrolysis oil can be conducted in a gas furnace or a split furnace.

Methods and systems are provided for the conversion of waste plastics into various useful downstream recycle-content products. More particularly, the present system and method involves integrating a pyrolysis facility with a cracker facility by introducing at least a stream of r-pyrolysis gas into the cracker facility. In the cracker facility, the r-pyrolysis gas may be separated to form one or more recycle content products, and can enhance the operation of the facility.

Processes and systems for formation of recycle-content hydrocarbon compositions

Processes and facilities for producing recycled chemical products from waste plastic are described herein. The processes include treating process streams, such as a pyrolysis gas stream and/or at least a portion of a cracker furnace effluent stream, in a caustic scrubber process to remove certain components, such as carbon dioxide. The spent caustic solution from the caustic scrubber process is then recycled and reused in other caustic processes within the facility, which can include a halogen neutralization process from removing halogens from a liquification process off-gas.

A mixed ester composition having a recycle content value is obtained by reacting a recycle content feedstock to make a recycle content mixed ester or by deducting from a recycle inventory a recycle content value applied to a mixed ester composition. At least a portion of the recycle content value in the feedstock or in an allotment obtained by a mixed ester manufacturer has its origin in recycled waste and/or pyrolysis of recycled waste and/or in thermal steam cracking of recycle content pyoil.

A hydrocarbon cracker stream is combined with recycle content pyrolysis oil to form a combined cracker stream and the combined cracker stream is cracked in a cracker furnace to provide an olefin-containing effluent. A predominantly Cto Chydrocarbon cracker stream is combined with recycle content pyrolysis oil to form a combined cracker stream and the combined cracker stream is cracked in a cracker furnace to provide an olefin-containing effluent. The r-pyoil can be fed to a first coil while a second cracker feed with none of the r-pyoil or less of the r-pyoil is fed to a second coil, and both are cracked in a cracker furnace to form an olefin-containing effluent stream. Alternatively, the r-pyoil can be fed and distributed across multiple coils along with the non-recycle cracker feed. The furnace can be a gas fed furnace, or split cracker furnace. Further, a first cracker stream with r-pyoil in a first coil can have a lower total molar flow rate than a second cracker stream in a second coil in the same furnace.

A hydrocarbon cracker stream is combined with recycle content pyrolysis oil to form a combined cracker stream and the combined cracker stream is cracked in a cracker furnace to provide an olefin-containing effluent. The r-pyoil can be fed to the cracker feed. More specifically the-pyoil is present in said feedstock in an amount of not more than 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the feedstock.
