A self-contained transportable life support system for resuscitation, stabilization, and transport of a patient has an environmentally controlled housing for receiving and supporting a patient and a plurality of medical devices disposed within the housing. A control circuit attached to the housing has at least a portion thereof extending to an external surface of the housing for regulating operation of the medical devices and environmental conditions of within the housing in response to monitored life support conditions of the patient.

Amethod for constructing a composite structure is disclosed. The method comprises four steps. Step one calls for coupling a flexible layer to a base, where the flexible layer has a working surface and an underside surface. Step two requires coupling at least one support element to the underside surface of the flexible layer. The next step calls for coupling at least one adjustable element to the support element for adjusting the position of the flexible layer. The last step requires configuring the flexible layer to a configuration suitable for constructing the composite structure. More specifically, the flexible layer may have internal reinforcing elements for added strength and durability.

Method for constructing a composite structure

A protective structure for thermal insulation and impact resistance, and especially suited for bonded application to the exterior of aircraft including spacecraft to protect the craft from high temperatures generated by exhaust gases and by atmospheric re-entry. The structure includes either a single ceramic tile component with a cover component comprising a fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite encasing the tile component, or a plurality of ceramic tile components with a like single cover component encasing the plurality of tile components. Utilizing the structures as an external aircraft surface imparts a super hard exterior that functions to significantly prohibit impact and erosion damage while not compromising the desirable thermal insulation properties inherent to tile.

Apparatus for constructing a composite structure

An aircraft door sealing system for use with an aircraft door. The aircraft door is movable between open and closed positions with respect to a door frame. The door has a peripheral door opening portion and a peripheral door seal portion. The door frame has a peripheral frame opening portion and a peripheral frame seal portion. The frame opening portion is aligned adjacent the door opening portion when the door is in the closed position. The frame seal portion is aligned adjacent the door seal portion when the door is in the closed position. The sealing system is provided with an elastic seal which is interposed between the door and the door frame. The seal is attached to the door seal portion and the frame seal portion. The seal is expandable and contractible for permitting movement of the door between the open and closed positions thereof. The seal has a pair of seal opening edges disposed between the door opening portion and the frame opening portion. An opening is collectively defined by the door opening portion, the frame opening portion and the seal opening edges when the door is in the open position for facilitating access through the opening and the door frame.
