Devices and methods for enhanced denervation procedures

An example of a system for programming a neurostimulator may include a storage device and a user interface. The storage device may be configured to store waveform building blocks. The user interface may include a display screen, a user input device, and an interface control circuit. The interface control circuit may include a waveform composer configured to allow for composition of one of more building blocks and composition of a pattern of neurostimulation pulses using selected one or more waveform building blocks. The waveform composer may include a library controller and waveform building block editors. The library controller may be configured to display a library management area on the screen. The displayed library management area allows a user to manage the stored waveform building blocks. The waveform building block editors may each be configured to allow the user to compose a type of the waveform building blocks.

User interface for neurostimulation waveform composition

A neurostimulation system includes a programming control circuit and a user interface. The programming control circuit may be configured to generate a plurality of stimulation parameters controlling delivery of neurostimulation pulses according to one or more neurostimulation programs each specifying a pattern of the neurostimulation pulses. The user interface includes a display screen, a user input device, and a neurostimulation program circuit. The neurostimulation program circuit may be configured to allow for construction of one or more pulse trains (PTs) and one or more train groupings (TGs) of the one or more neurostimulation programs, and to allow for scheduling of delivery of the one or more neurostimulation programs, using the display screen and the user input device. Each PT includes one or more pulse blocks each including a plurality of pulses of the neurostimulation pulses. Each TG includes one or more PTs.

User interface for custom patterned electrical stimulation

An example of a system may include a lead including a distal electrode portion. The distal electrode portion may be configured to at least partially encircle a sympathetic chain in a lumbar region or thoracic region. The distal electrode portion may include at least one electrode oriented toward the sympathetic chain when the distal electrode portion at least partially encircles the sympathetic chain. The distal portion may include at least one anchoring site configured for use to mechanically secure the distal electrode portion to tissue proximate to the sympathetic chain. The lead may have a strain relief proximate to the distal electrode portion.

Systems and methods to provide sympathetic modulation therapy

An electrical stimulation lead includes a lead body having a distal end portion, a proximal end portion, and a longitudinal length; and electrodes disposed along the distal end portion of the lead body. The electrodes include a first set of electrodes and a second set of electrodes. The electrodes of the first set are spaced apart by a first distance and the electrodes of the second set are spaced apart by a second distance that is greater than the first distance and the first set is spaced apart from the second set by a third distance that is greater than or equal to the second distance. The lead also includes terminals disposed along the proximal end portion of the lead body; conductors electrically coupling the terminals to the electrodes; and anchoring units disposed along the distal end portion of the lead body and proximal to the first set of electrodes.

An example includes machine-implemented method of providing therapy to a patient using a plurality of electrodes implanted within the patient that includes receiving, via a programmer for an electrical stimulator, user input that at least partially defines a neuromodulation field to provide the therapy, based on the received user input, determining a subset of the plurality of electrodes and current distributions for the subset to generate the field, comparing an electrode limit to a number of electrodes in the determined subset and eliminating at least one of the number of electrodes in the determined subset based on the comparison to provide a reduced subset of the electrodes, and redistributing current associated with the at least one eliminated electrode to at least one of the electrodes in the reduced subset of electrodes.

Programming techniques for electrical stimulation

A burr hole plug includes a first plug base defining a burr hole aperture and including first grooves; a second plug base to be disposed around the first plug base and including second grooves to receive a portion of an electrical stimulation lead; a cover to be disposed on the second plug base; a cap to be disposed over the burr hole aperture and coupled to the first plug base; and an extension coupled to, and extending away from, the cover. The extension includes conductors and the second plug base and the cover include conductive elements to electrically couple the terminals of the electrical stimulation lead, when disposed in the second grooves, to the conductors of the extension. An alternative burr hole plug includes a lead connector disposed on the cap and having a connector aperture to receive the proximal end of the electrical stimulation lead.

An example of a system for comparing neurostimulation waveforms can include a user interface configured to receive user input that at least partially defines a first neurostimulation waveform with at least one of differing pulses and differing pulse intervals, where the user input including at least one received parameter of the first neurostimulation waveform. The system can include a storage device configured to store at least one parameter of at least one second neurostimulation waveform, a comparator configured to compare the at least one received parameter of the first neurostimulation waveform to a corresponding at least one parameter of at least one second neurostimulation waveform stored in a memory, the user interface configured to generate and display to the user an indication of a similarity between the compared parameters.

Method and apparatus for comparing neurostimulation patterns

Embodiments of the present disclosure include medical apparatus, and related methods thereof. The apparatus may include a longitudinally extending lead, at least one electrode, an anchor component, and a control module. The lead may include a distal end and a proximal end. The at least one electrode may be coupled to the lead, wherein the at least one electrode may be disposed on the distal end of the lead. The anchor component may be disposed in the lead proximate of the at least one electrode. The anchor component may include solder. The control module may be operably coupled to the proximal end of the lead and may be configured to deliver energy to the at least one electrode.
