A method for printing input digital images using an inkjet printing system having a first and second drop ejector arrays for ejecting drops of a particular ink, wherein ink paths supplying drop ejector arrays have different length projections. The method comprising printing a first combined number of ink dots using the first and second drop ejector arrays during first and third time intervals where the printhead is accelerating and decelerating; and printing a second combined number of ink dots using the first and second drop ejector arrays during a second time interval where the printhead is moving at a substantially constant velocity, wherein the percentage of ink dots that are printed by the drop ejector array having a longer length projection is less than 40% of the corresponding combined number of ink dots in at least one of the first or third time intervals.

Method for printing with an accelerating printhead

An ink jet ink composition comprising water, a humectant, and composite colorant polymer particles, wherein the composite colorant polymer particles having a colorant phase and a polymer phase, the polymer phase of the particles being formed in situ in the presence of the colorant, the composite colorant polymer particles not increasing in mean particle size more than about 50% when said ink is incubated for one week at 60&#xb0; C.

An ink jet printing method having the steps of: A) providing an ink jet printer that is responsive to digital data signals; B) loading the printer with an ink-receiving element having a support having thereon a continuous, coextensive, porous ink-receiving layer having interconnecting voids; C) loading the printer with an ink jet ink composition of water, a humectant, a pigment and particles of a water-dispersible polymer; and D) printing on the ink-receiving layer using the ink jet ink in response to the digital data signals.

An ink jet ink composition comprising water, a humectant, a polyvalent transition metal complex of an 8-heterocyclylazo-5-hydroxy-quinoline and an anti-kogation material comprising an alkali metal salt of a monobasic organic or inorganic acid. An ink jet ink composition comprising from about 30 to about 90% by weight of water, from about 0.5 to about 30% by weight of a pigment, from about 0.125 to about 7.5% by weight of an anionic dispersant, from about 0.05 to about 2% by weight of an ethoxylated trimethylnonanol, and from about 10 to about 50% by weight of a humectant comprising a polyhydric alcohol.

An ink jet printing apparatus for producing an image on a gelatin coated ink receiver includes, at least one ink reservoir for providing ink for printing the image; a first print head coupled to an ink receiver and at least one ink reservoir, for producing disposing ink spots on the ink receiver; a hardening fluid reservoir for providing a hardening fluid for treating the ink spots disposed on the receiver; and a second print head coupled to the ink receiver and the fluid reservoir, for depositing the fluid on the ink spots disposed on the ink receiver whereby the gelatin coating is cross-linked with the hardening fluid thus improving the image stability and durability of the image.
