A bitumen roofing composite is described having an upper surface and a lower surface. The bitumen roofing composite contains a first composite bitumen layer and a fire resistant (FR) fleece. The first composite bitumen layer has a first side and a second side and contains a first carrier saturated with bitumen. The FR fleece has a first side and a second side, where the first side of the FR fleece and the second side of the first bitumen composite layer are in intimate contact. The FR fleece contains a plurality of FR staple fibers and a plurality of first char scaffold fibers.

Bitumen roofing composite

A metal roofing system contains, in order a roof deck, a fire resistant (FR) fleece, and a metal sheeting system. The second side of the FR fleece faces the roof deck. The FR fleece contains a plurality of FR staple fibers and a plurality of first char scaffold fibers. The FR fleece has a fleece thickness defined as the distance between the first side and the second side. The metal sheeting system contains a plurality of metal sheets having an upper and lower side, where the lower side of the metal sheeting system faces the first side of the FR fleece. The metal sheets have an average metal sheet thickness defined as the distance between the upper and lower sides, where the thickness of the FR fleece is at least about 3 times the average metal sheet thickness. The FR fleece has a density of less 0.5 g/cm.

Metal roofing system

A composite roofing membrane containing a single ply roofing membrane containing a first membrane, a scrim, and a second membrane. The first side of the first membrane forms the upper surface of the composite roofing membrane and contains a thermoplastic polymer. The scrim has a machine and cross-machine direction and contains a yarn or fiber selected from the group consisting of polyester and glass, and a tensile strength in the machine direction is at least about 100 N/cm. The second membrane contains a thermoplastic polymer. The composite roofing membrane also contains a fire resistant fleece containing a plurality of FR rayon staple fibers and a plurality of char scaffold fibers selected from the group consisting of partially oxidized acrylonitrile and silica staple fibers.

Fire resistant composite roofing membrane

A filter contains a textile having on at least one side a plurality of treated activated carbon particles. The treated activated carbon particles contain a plurality of activated carbon particles, a hydrophobic agent, a mercury oxidation facilitation agent, and optionally a binder.

The cover contains a thermoplastic non-woven layer containing thermoplastic fibers having a contact angle with water greater than about 70&#xb0;. The cover contains a UV barrier layer contains containing a UV blocking polymer, having a thickness of between one to three times the diameter of the thermoplastic fibers of the non-woven layer, and containing discontinuities forming microchannels through the layer thickness. The cover also contains an odor mitigation layer containing a UV translucent polymer which transmits at least about 60% of UV(C) energy and anatase titanium dioxide. The odor mitigation layer comprises discontinuities forming microchannels through the layer thickness forms the outer surface of the cover.

Non-woven cover for containing and abating odiferous organic emanations

A unitary, fiber-containing composite comprises (a) a first region comprising a plurality of first binder fibers and a plurality of bast fibers, (b) a second region disposed above the first region, the second region comprising a plurality of second binder fibers and a plurality of bast fibers, and (c) a transitional region disposed between the first region and the second region. The transitional region comprises concentrations of the first binder fiber, the second binder fiber, and the bast fiber. The concentration of the first binder fiber in the first transitional region is greatest proximate to the first region and least proximate to the second region, and the concentration of the second binder fiber and the bast fiber in the first transitional region is greatest proximate to the second region and least proximate to the first region. A method for producing a unitary, fiber-containing composite is also described.

Fiber-containing composite and method for making the same

A non-woven material including first effect fibers, first binder fibers, second binder fibers, and optionally second effect fibers. The non-woven material has a first planar zone and a second planar zone. The first planar zone includes a greater concentration of first effect fibers and first binder fibers. The second planar zone includes a greater concentration of second effect fibers and second binder fibers. The first planar zone can include a first surface skin associated with the first planar zone on the exterior of the non-woven material, and a second surface skin associated with the second planar zone on the exterior of the non-woven material. The non-woven material has a woven, knitted, or non-woven layer added on either one or both sides of the non-woven material.

Non-woven composite

A non-woven material including first effect fibers, first binder fibers, second binder fibers, and second effect fibers. The non-woven material has a first planar zone and a second planar zone. The first planar zone includes a greater concentration of first effect fibers and first binder fibers. The second planar zone includes a greater concentration of second effect fibers and second binder fibers. The first planar zone can include a first surface skin associated with the first planar zone on the exterior of the non-woven material, and a second surface skin associated with the second planar zone on the exterior of the non-woven material.

Non-woven material with barrier skin

A moldable heat shield with a needled nonwoven core layer and needled nonwoven shell layers. The core layer has a blend polyester staple fibers and low melt polyester staple fibers. The shell layers have a blend of staple fibers of partially oxidized polyacrylonitrile, and staple fibers of polyester, and staple fibers of a low melt polyester. The layers are needled together such that fibers from the core layer do not reach the outer surfaces of the shell layers. The shell layers are calendared such that an outer surface layer is formed thereon, which provides the moldable heat shield with a water and oil resistant surface.

Moldable heat shield

A heat and fire resistant planar unitary shield formed of heat and flame resistant fibers and voluminous bulking fibers. The shield material has a heat and flame resistant zone with a majority of the heat and flame resistant fibers, and a voluminous bulking zone with a majority of the voluminous bulking fibers. The fibers are distributed through the shield material in an manner that the heat and flame resistant fibers collect closest to the outer surface of the shield with the heat and flame resistant zone, and the voluminous bulking fibers collect closest to the outer surface of the shield material with the voluminous bulking zone.

Heat and flame shield

A ceiling system having panels suspended from a ceiling with a frame and suspension connections. The panels are a non-woven material including first effect fibers, first binder fibers, second binder fibers, and second effect fibers. The non-woven material has a first planar zone and a second planar zone. The first planar zone includes a greater concentration of first effect fibers and first binder fibers. The second planar zone includes a greater concentration of second effect fibers and second binder fibers. The first planar zone can include a first surface skin associated with the first planar zone on the exterior of the non-woven material, and a second surface skin associated with the second planar zone on the exterior of the non-woven material.

The non-woven material has a first planar zone with an exterior skin, and a bulking zone. The first planar zone includes a greater concentration of first effect fibers and first binder fibers. The bulking zone includes a greater concentration of bulking fibers and second binder fibers. The first effect fibers can be fire retardant fibers.
