A system for braking rotational movement of at least one beam is disclosed. The system can comprise a frame and at least one beam rotatably supported on the frame. Each beam of the at least one beam can comprise at least one sheave groove on at least one longitudinal end. A rope can have a first end and a second end. Each of the first end and second end can be fixedly coupled to the frame. The rope can be received within a portion of at least one of the at least one sheave groove of each beam. A tensioning assembly can be configured to selectively cause a predetermined braking tension in the rope.

Beam brake system and method

A shaft assembly has a shaft and a journal bearing that is fixedly coupled to the shaft so that rotation of the shaft causes corresponding rotation of the journal bearing. A bearing race has an inner surface that defines a cylindrical bore and a lubrication groove that extends radially outward from the cylindrical bore. The journal bearing is rotatably disposed within the cylindrical bore of the bearing race.

A shifter adjustment assembly can be configured to couple to a shifter of a tufting apparatus, the shifter having first, second, third, and fourth shaft segments. The shifter adjustment assembly comprises a first body that is configured to couple to respective first ends of the first and third shaft segments. A second body is configured to couple to respective first ends of the second and fourth shaft segments. The shifter assembly comprises a coupling between the first body and the second body. The coupling is configured to releasably secure an axial position of the first body with respect to the second body along the longitudinal dimension. The first body and second body define respective complementary surfaces that are configured for sliding engagement so that movement between the first body and the second body in the transverse dimension is restricted and movement between the first body and the second body in the longitudinal dimension is permitted.

Methods and systems for use of a three dimensional measurement laser are disclosed. An example method can comprise receiving, at a laser measuring device, an article (e.g., a flooring article) having a plurality of faces, the article being conveyed in a direction. At least a portion of a first face and a second face of the plurality of faces of the article can be irradiated with a laser of the laser measuring device to measure one or more profile dimensions associated with the first and second faces of the article. The measured profile dimensions associated with the first face and the profile dimensions associated with the second face are compared to predefined reference dimensions. In response to a difference between measured profile dimensions associated with the first face and the second face and the predefined reference dimensions exceeding a threshold value, the article can be determined to be defective.

Three dimensional laser measurement device for quality control measurements

A system and method for imparting a textured surface effect in a board. The system and method are configured to releasably secure a charge on a table; determine a random abrasion pattern for the charge with at least one programmable controller; and control at least one abrasion assembly with the at least one programmable controller in accord with the random abrasion pattern to selectively engage and remove desired portions of the upper surface of the charge with the at least one abrasion assembly to form a randomized textured surface effect thereon.

Automated hardwood texturing system and associated methods

Texturing apparatuses and methods are provided for forming a textured surface on a panel. An exemplary texturing apparatus has a bed and a mount having at least one cutting blade that can be configured to impart a cut to a top structural surface of the panel as the panel is moved along the bed. The bed is configured to receive the panel and can define one or more openings. The mount is operably positioned in the opening and can be articulated in one or more directions with respect to the plane of the bed.
