A hydraulic manifold assembly includes a manifold containing a plurality of hydraulic channels that direct fluid to a centralized location and a package disposed at the centralized location to measure fluid pressure at pressure ports corresponding to the hydraulic channels. The manifold assembly directs fluid to the single package rather than scattering fluid outputs to multiple sensor locations, simplifying the overall assembly configuration.

Method for testing a hydraulic manifold

A closed loop adaptive fluid control system and method for use in hydraulic applications monitors one or more fluid characteristics, such as pressure, flow rate, accumulation time in an actuator, fill volume, etc., and compares the characteristic with a target response. A fluid characteristic sensor detects at least one fluid characteristic at a hydraulically-actuated device that is actuated by a electrically-operated. The sensor sends a device signal corresponding to the actual sensed characteristic to an electronic controller, which compares the device signal with a target response. The controller then identifies any differences between the device signal and the target response and provides a feedback signal to the electrically-operated valve to adjust the current to the valve, which in turn adjusts the electrically-operated valve so that the device signal corresponding to the sensed characteristic at the device converges toward the target response.

Closed loop adaptive fluid control system and method

The present invention relates to a method of analyzing accuracy of linear sensor output based on a theoretical prediction of the output model. The method comprises steps of: analyzing a statistically significant number of linear sensors to obtain operating profiles at two or more operating conditions; individually testing a linear sensor to obtain at least four data points; developing a theoretical prediction of the output model for each operating condition from the four data points; and comparing accuracy of the relationship between the theoretical prediction of the output model to sensor output in the operating profile corresponding to a given input for the same operating condition. Also disclosed are calibration algorithms associated therewith, as well as mechatronic units and further assemblies therefrom.

Mathematical model useful for determining and calibrating output of a linear sensor

An electro-hydraulic manifold assembly with a plurality of solenoid operated valves disposed on a manifold block and each operable to control pressure from the inlet to a separate outlet. Sensing ports are provided in each outlet with a pressure sensor sealed over the sensing port for providing a signal indicative of the sensed pressure. The pressure sensors are mounted on a lead frame and connected to conductive strips in the lead frame. The lead frame has slots therein which permit the frame to be simultaneously electrically connected by bayonet connection to the terminals on each solenoid valve as the transducers are sealed over the sensing ports and the lead frame attached to the manifold block.

A solenoid operated three port pressure control valve assembly of the exhaust pressure bleed type. The valve for the inlet pressure supply port includes a pressure responsive diaphragm with the supply port obturator attached. A bleed orifice in the diaphragm provides viscous dampening of the movement of the obturator and minimizes inlet valve flutter. The valve assembly is disclosed in both normally open and normally closed configurations.

An electro-hydraulic controller having a plurality of solenoid operated valves mounted in inlet and outlet ported valving cavities on a non-metallic manifold block. The manifold block has inlet and outlet ports sealed by a gasket for communication with corresponding ports in a metallic base to which the manifold block is attached. The base is sufficiently rigid to resist prohibitive deflection when exposed to the forces of fluid pressure when secured over the open hydraulic channels of an automatic transmission shift circuit deck. The non-metallic manifold may be fabricated to &ldquo;Net Shape&rdquo; without costly secondary operations to achieve critical dimensions.
