Generator stator bar having profile strip and process for manufacturing a generator stator bar are presented. The generator stator bar includes stator bar strands assembled together. The profile strip is placed on top side and bottom side surfaces of the stator bar strand assembly. The profile strip includes uncured strip consisting of uncured material. The profile strip includes pre-cured strip consisting of pre-cured material. The pre-cured strip includes cavities perforated through its thickness. The profile strip enables the generator stator bar to be manufactured by a single press and heat operation to achieve a rectangular geometry having round outer edges and to maintain orientations of stator bar strands parallel to the profile strip.

A winding for a rotor for use in an electrical generator utilized in the power generation industry. The winding includes a plurality of axial sections and a plurality of transversely oriented end arc sections. An integrated leg section extends from each end arc section to form an associated corner section at an intersection of each leg section and associated end arc section. Each leg section is affixed to an associated axial section at a joint that is spaced apart from an associated corner section such that the joint is not subjected to stress concentration which occurs at the associated corner section.

A header () for use with an inner-cooled half coil () in a stator phase winding of an electrical generator. The half coil may include a stack of cooling tubes () with a first stack of conductive strands () adjacent a first side of the stack of cooling tubes and a second stack of conductive strands () adjacent a second side of the stack of cooling tubes. A header () is conductively bonded () by brazing to each strand of the first stack of conductive strands () and to each strand of the second stack of conductive strands () for consolidating the first and second stacks of conductive strands. A means () for allowing a coolant to flow through the header () may be provided to allow coolant to flow through the stack of cooling tubes (). The means () for allowing coolant to flow through the header () may include a plurality of apertures () that are aligned with respective ones of the stack of cooling tubes () for inspecting the cooling tubes through the apertures. Conductive connectors () may be attached to and removed from the header without affecting the consolidation of the conductive strands.
