A storage assemblage is disclosed for cassettes each of which contains an image bearing medium having recorded images and for index print sheets each of which has printed pictures that match the images on the image bearing medium in one of the cassettes. According to the invention, there is provided respective holders for the cassettes each of which includes connection means for securing the holder to one of the index print sheets and fulcrum means engageable to permit the holder and an index print sheet secured to it to be pivoted at said fulcrum means. A binder for storing the holders and the index print sheets includes fixed support means for releaseably engaging the fulcrum means of each of the holders to store the holders and the index print sheets inside the binder and to permit one of the holders and an index print sheet secured to it to be pivoted away from the others to view the index print sheet and to be released from engagement with the fixed support means to obtain a cassette from the holder.

A package is disclosed for a cassette containing an image bearing medium having a plurality of images recorded on it and for an index print sheet on which are printed a plurality of pictures that match the plurality of images on the image bearing medium. According to the invention, the package comprises an envelope for storing the index print sheet with its pictures visible, and a holder for the cassette. Respective means are located on the envelope and the holder for engaging to affix the envelope and the holder to each other and for disengaging to release one from the other.

A storage assemblage is disclosed for cassettes each of which holds an image bearing medium having recorded images and for index print sheets each of which has printed pictures that match the images on the image bearing medium in one of the cassettes. According to the invention, there is provided one or more containers each of which includes a flat transparent cover and a flat back dimensioned to snugly hold an index print sheet between them with the pictures on the index print sheet visible through the cover. The back has a fulcrum projecting from one of edge of the back, and a nest open at an inner side of the back to receive a cassette and which projects from an outer side of the back to hold the cassette out of the way of the index print sheet. A box has a support for the back of each container, a groove arranged to receive the nest of each container when the back of the container is laid against the support, and slot-like means adapted to receive the fulcrum of each container to support the container for pivoting about its fulcrum to lower its back onto the support and its nest into the groove.

A storage assemblage is disclosed for cassettes each of which holds an image bearing medium having recorded images and for index print sheets each of which has printed pictures that match the images on the image bearing medium in one of the cassettes. According to the invention, the storage assemblage comprises display containers each of which includes a flat transparent cover and a flat back dimensioned to snugly hold an index print sheet between them with the pictures on the index print sheet visible through the cover. The back has a nest open at an inner side of the back to receive a cassette and projecting from an outer side of the back to hold the cassette out of the way of the index print sheet. A storage box has at least two substantially parallel grooves each of which is configured to receive some of the nests of the respective containers in a line to arrange the covers and backs of the containers whose nests are in the same groove overlapping in an X-direction and to arrange the covers and backs of the containers whose nests are in different grooves overlapping in a Y-direction substantially perpendicular to the X direction, to provide a compact storage facility.

A viewfinder in a camera includes visual composition means manually operable to change from a horizontal frame view of a subject to be photographed to a vertical frame view of the subject without having to change the horizontal orientation of the camera to a vertical one. If a vertical format of the subject is selected for picture-taking, the camera is changed to a vertical orientation and the visual composition means is manually released to return automatically to the horizontal frame view of the subject. Since the camera has been changed to a vertical orientation, the horizontal frame view will appear as a vertical one.

A compartment defining a cassette receiving chamber in a photographic camera is movable outwardly from the camera body to insert the type of 35 mm film cassette that contains a non-protruding film leader into the chamber. A loading opening to the chamber has a continuous enclosed perimeter commensurate in shape with an outline of the aforementioned film cassette. This feature prevents the type of film cassette that has a protruding film leader from being inserted into the chamber, by obstructing the protruding film leader.

A mode selector member and a recess are disposed in a relatively close relation on the front face of a camera to enable a finger of the user that operates the mode selector member to be readily transferred from the member to the recess, after the member is moved to a selected position. Thus inadvertent movement of the mode selector member from the selected position to an erroneous position, during picture-taking, will be prevented.

A still camera comprised of a dual, normal and telephoto, lens with flash, incorporates features which allow controlling several camera functions with a single sliding multi-position flash housing. Position 'normal' configures the camera so that the viewfinder has a normal field of view, the flash is unextended, and an objective lens of normal focal length is in exposure position. Position 'tele' configures the camera so that the viewfinder has a narrow field of view, a telephoto lens is in exposure position, and the flash is fully extended. Additional positions of the flash housing and lens and viewfinder are also disclosed.
