The propulsion system may be controlled with a variable frequency drive (VFD) to allow for improved swimming conditions and control of same.

The present technology of impact attenuation structures may be applicable where impact absorption and controlled buckling is desired, such as bike helmets.

A system includes a battery cell and a graphene layer positioned on an outer surface of the battery cell. If the battery cell experiences a thermal runaway event, the graphene layer may help to direct any rupturing of the battery cell in a direction that may prevent the thermal runaway event from propagating to neighboring battery cells.

The compressing device includes a compressor and a motor. The compressor receives a first energy derived from the first and second mediums being expanded across the turbine during a first mode of the compressing device, receives a second energy derived from the first medium being expanded across the turbine during a second mode of the compressing device, and compresses the second medium in accordance with the first mode or the second mode. The motor provides a supplementary energy to the compressor.

A method, system, and a computer readable medium enables determining a design layout of a battery that includes an electrical arrangement of one or more battery cells and one or more electrical components. The method also includes determining operational parameters of a batch of battery cells and electrical components to potentially be used in the battery and selecting at least one battery cell and at least one electrical component for the electrical arrangement of the design layout. The method further includes comparing the operational parameters of the at least one battery cell and at least one electrical component and determining that the operational parameters of the at least one battery cell and at least one electrical component are within a predetermined threshold. The method includes selecting the at least one battery cell and at least one electrical component as a potential combination for the design.

Systems and methods for screening and matching battery cells and electronics

Systems, computer readable media, and method concern determining operational parameters of an inventory of components to be included in a battery. The components can include storage components and electrical components. The method includes generating a system of equations that describe suitable combinations of components in locations in a battery design layout for the battery, the system of equations being generated based at least partially on rules and constraints, and includes analyzing the system of equations using integer optimization. The integer optimization can optimizes, based at least partially on the operational parameters, one or more objective functions in the system of equations to determine at least one solution for the battery design layout, and the at least one solution can include a set of the components for the locations in the battery design layout for the battery. The method includes providing, via an interface, the at least one solution.

Systems and methods for optimizing component placement in a battery design

A package coding system for a cigarette manufacturing process is provided. An imprinting device imprints an alphanumeric code on each of a series of cigarette packages. A conveyor device conveys the cigarette packages in a feed direction. An inspection device is operably engaged with the conveyor device and inspects the alphanumeric code imprinted on each cigarette package conveyed by the conveyor device to determine whether any of the cigarette packages includes a defect in the imprinted alphanumeric code, and thus comprises a defective cigarette package. A removal device is operably engaged with the conveyor device and is configured to be in communication with the inspection device. The removal device is configured to remove the defective cigarette package from the series of cigarette packages conveyed by the conveyor device in response to identification thereof by the inspection device. An associated method is also provided.
