Lighting fixtures for attachment to architectural surface structures are adapted to hold light sources. The lighting fixtures may include a base plate and mounting brackets. Clamps are provided that may bias the light source in either the forward or rearward direction. The clamps may include spring arms that center the light source within the fixture in addition to retaining the light source in place. The fixtures may further accommodate overlying structures, such as lenses. The lighting fixtures facilitate use with a variety of different architectural structures and formation in various shapes.

Lighting system for an architectural surface structure

A recessed luminaire is described. The luminaire may include an aiming system allowing a rotation angle and/or a tilt angle of a light source to be adjusted while the light source is in operation. Additionally, the luminaire includes a light shield that is coupled to the aiming system such that the light shield may move in relation to the tilt angle and the orientation of the light source. The aiming system may be further coupled to a support panel such that rotation of the aiming system is provided by a rotatable coupling between one or more leaf Springs of the aiming system, and an upper surface of the support panel.

Recessed luminaire

In an embodiment, a luminaire may include a housing that includes a support panel, a rotation ring supported by the support panel where the rotation ring is infinitely adjustable with a range of adjustments with respect to the support panel, a rotation drive unit configured to rotate the rotation ring with respect to the support panel, an aiming frame supported by the rotation ring, a tray system pivotally mounted to the aiming frame and configured to receive the bulb, and a tray drive configured to rotate the tray system about the pivotal mounting, whereby, in operation the rotational and angular orientation of the bulb may be adjusted while the bulb is on.

Lighting fixture for an architectural surface structure

In an embodiment of the present invention, a light emitting diode (LED) recessed down light fixture comprises a housing, a reflector assembly mounted to the housing, and an LED circuit board attached to the housing over the reflector assembly. The LED circuit board includes a plurality of resistors electrically connected to the LED circuit board, a bridge rectifier, and a plurality of at least 80 miniature LEDs electrically connected to the LED circuit board and configured to provide light. The plurality of miniature LEDs are separated into a plurality of LED clusters. Each cluster is electrically connected to at least one resistor. Further, the plurality of miniature LEDs are arranged in a configuration such that a voltage differential across any two proximate LEDs is less than 36 volts. The down light fixture further comprises a lens cover attached to the top end of the reflector assembly.

Recessed LED down light

An adjustable light fixture includes a fixture assembly, a rotation adjustment assembly, and an angle adjustment assembly. The rotation adjustment assembly is configured to receive a lamp, orient the lamp relative to the fixture assembly, and maintain the orientation of the lamp relative to the fixture assembly when the lamp is removed and replaced. The angle adjustment assembly is movably connected to the fixture assembly and is configured to adjust the angle between the fixture assembly and the rotation adjustment assembly. A method of relamping an adjustable light fixture includes providing an adjustable light fixture, installing a lamp in the rotation adjustment assembly from above or below the adjustable light fixture, and adjusting the rotational or angular orientation of the fixture.

Lamp-independent adjustable recessed light fixture

A recessed lighting fixture for mounting to a ceiling includes a housing, a frame, and at least one locking assembly. The housing includes a side wall, an opening, a lip extending outwardly around at least a portion of a circumference of the opening, and a slot in the side wall. The frame has an aperture sized for slidably receiving the housing. The at least one locking assembly is configured to move between a locked position and an unlocked position and is mountable in the slot. When in the locked position, the locking assembly exerts a force to compress the ceiling between the lip and the frame.

Recessed lighting fixture locking assembly

A recessed lighting fixture includes a frame having an aperture and at least one mount and a reflector including at least one torsion spring configured to be received in the mount when the reflector is mounted to the frame. A recessed lighting fixture also includes a frame and a reflector. The frame includes an aperture and a pair of mounts separated around a circumference of the aperture in a first direction that differs from a distance in a second direction (i.e., by an angle of other than 180&deg;). The reflector includes a pair of torsion springs separated around a circumference of the reflector in the same way. The reflector is designed to be received in the mount when the reflector is mounted to the frame. The aperture may be a noncircular opening. A junction box that can be used with a recessed lighting fixture includes a retaining spring and a plate having at least one edge having a slot cut into the edge. The retaining spring is mounted on the plate and includes a retaining portion and an outer edge. The retaining portion extends into the slot and the outer edge is substantially flush with the edge of the plate.

Recessed lighting fixture

An adjustable recessed light fixture comprises a lamp positionable in orientations wherein the light beam is inclined obliquely relative to a vertical axis, and wherein the inclined light beam can be rotated about the vertical axis. A movable stop is provided which enables the lamp to be rotated in a complete 360.degree. range of rotation. A housing which covers the light fixture includes a removable top wall which provides an effective thermal insulation for the housing. A trim ring is installable such that torsion springs of the trim ring are effectively held within a rotatable spin disc of the light fixture. The lamp can be rotated about a horizontal axis in a manner wherein only a minimal portion of a light beam is cut off by a reflector. A bar hanger for hanging a light fixture frame to a ceiling joist includes relatively slidable rails, wherein ends of the rails can be broken off to shorten the bar hanger without having to disconnect the rails from one another.
