A method is for dynamically adjusting a circadian rhythm of an observer via a user device that includes control circuitry and an associated memory. The method includes determining a preconditioning schedule for at least one future event. Determining the schedule includes determining a preconditioning schedule for the at least one future events, including identifying a circadian shift needed, to the circadian rhythm of the observer, for the at least one future event, determining a timeframe for preconditioning, determining a per-day shift needed based upon the identified circadian shift needed and the determined timeframe, and determining if the needed per-day shift exceeds a threshold. Upon a determination that the per-day shift exceeds the threshold, the method includes setting the preconditioning schedule responsive to the determination to operate a light source to emit light based upon the preconditioning schedule.

System, user device and associated methods for dynamically adjusting circadian rhythm responsive to future events

A lighting system comprising a light source operable to emit a source light, a sensor operable to sense environmental light from an environment, and a controller operatively connected to each of the sensor and the light source and configured to analyze the environmental light sensed by the sensor to at least one of detect and generate data relating to a condition of the environment, the data being transmittable in a transmitted data light. The sensor is operable to sense the presence or absence of a dominant wavelength associated with the environmental light. Additionally, the controller is operable to correlate the dominant wavelength with a substance, the controller is configured to detect a level of the dominant wavelength correlated with the substance, and the controller is configured to operate the lighting system to generate an alert based upon the detected level of the dominant wavelength.

Wavelength sensing lighting system and associated methods

A retrofit lighting system is provided comprising a power supply assembly configured to convert an AC input voltage into a DC output voltage and to adapt the DC output voltage to a substantially constant current level to be defined as a regulated current, at least one distribution wire in electrical communication with the power supply assembly and configured to conduct the regulated current, and at least one respective luminaire assembly spaced apart from and in electrical communication with the power supply assembly, and configured to receive the regulated current from the at least one distribution wire. The DC output voltage may be about 12 volts or less.

A modular street lighting system comprising an attachment structure, power circuitry positioned, a support structure, and a lighting component comprising a body member comprising a light source housing section and a center component, the center component comprising a plurality of vertically-oriented heat dissipating structures, a circuit housing, circuitry, a rear attachment section, a lighting element in thermal communication, and an optic positioned within the light source housing section. The circuitry is configured to provide power for and control the operation of the lighting element. The lighting element is configured to emit light in the direction of the optic. The optic is configured to reflect light so as to be emitted by the lighting component. The plurality of heat dissipating structures are positioned in thermal communication with the back wall.

Modular street lighting system

A thoroughfare lighting device includes a housing to be attached to a thoroughfare surface, and including sidewalls that taper. A plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) selectively illuminate individual lanes, including a first set of LEDs to emit a generally white light, and a second set of LEDs to emit colored light that is observable by an observer. A driver circuit operates the second set of LEDs to emit colored light illuminating a single lane indicating a condition of the individual lane. Optics may be carried by the housing and positioned in optical communication with at least a portion of the plurality of LEDs. A traffic sensor communicatively coupled to the driver circuit and configured to sense a traffic pattern and generate information regarding traffic on the associated thoroughfare. The driver circuit is configured to operate the plurality of LEDs responsive to the information generated by the traffic sensor.

The method may comprise the steps of receiving a biometric indicator at the peripheral device, and forwarding the biometric indicator to the vendor server. The method may further comprise forwarding the biometric indicator to the verification server which may verify the biometric indicator by translating the biometric indicator into an encryption value, and computing an identity verification flag, defined as a pulse upon detecting a match of the encryption value and a stored cypher record. The vendor server may execute the trusted transaction by receiving the pulse signifying a match of the encryption values found by the verification server.

Also, the method includes, upon a determination that the per-day shift exceeds the maximum allowed per-day shift, setting the preconditioning schedule responsive to the determination, establishing communication between the control circuitry and a light source, and operating the light source to emit light based upon the preconditioning schedule.

A system for assembling a luminaire comprising a housing, a computer-controlled manipulation device, and a parts repository defined within the housing and configured to carry a plurality of light modules, a plurality of luminaire housings of various luminaire housing types, and a plurality of optics of various optic types. The system further comprises a programming device configured to program a light module of the plurality of light modules to emit light having lighting characteristics. Each of the light modules are configured to be removably couplable to the computer-controlled manipulation device.
