This treatment device for endoscope is used for cutting body tissue while the treatment device is retractably projected from a catheter. The treatment device includes: a control wire inserted into the catheter; and a cutting electrode mounted at the distal end of the control wire with the cutting electrode being imparted a bent configuration in advance. The cutting electrode elastically deforms in a state where the cutting electrode is retracted into the catheter, thereby assuming such a shape as to resemble the configuration of the catheter.

A medical retainer is provided capable of independently controlling supplying air and water to a hollow organ like a stomach and a lumen of a small intestine. The medical retainer for sealing a fluid, the retainer being subject to be retained in a gastrointestinal tract of a patient, the medical retainer includes: a sealing section for sealing the fluid, the sealing section making contact with a wall of the gastrointestinal tract; a main body having passageways; and directional valves disposed in the passageways for allowing one of upward flow and downward flow of the fluid relative to the position of the retainer.

A medical procedure and a system are provided so that two visions are obtainable through natural orifices by means of two observational apparatuses, or one the two visions is selectable. In order to control the pressure in an abdominal cavity of a patient and a pressure in a hollow organ, a medical system includes: a first pressure sensor for measuring the pressure of a gas in the abdominal cavity; a first port for insufflating and evacuating the abdominal cavity; a second pressure sensor for measuring the pressure of a gas in the hollow organ; a second port for insufflating and evacuating the hollow organ; an air supply apparatus connected to the second port for controlling the air supply and evacuation based on the output by the first and second pressure sensors; a third port connected to the second pressure sensor in the air supply apparatus; an endoscope connected to the air supply apparatus; a pneumoperitoneum needle connected to the first port; and a puncture needle connected to the second port.

Natural orifice medical operation and endoscopic overtube

Endoscope washer and washing method for providing an endoscope washer which self-disinfects the washing basin and the fluid tubes automatically, each time an endoscope is washed and disinfected. The endoscope washer includes a washing and disinfecting basin having an endoscope holding portion for holding an endoscope and a washing fluid well for storing a washing fluid. The washer also including a water supply pipe, connected to a first water supply tube and a second water supply tube, for supplying a washing fluid to the endoscope holding portion and the washing fluid well. The washer also has a disinfectant tank for supplying a disinfectant to the endoscope holding portion and the washing fluid well through the water supply pipe, to provide a self-washing function for washing and disinfecting both the endoscope and the pipes, e.g., the water supply pipes, at the same time.

A venous valve-incising device is made up of a flexible insertion member having a distal end, a hard tip attached to the distal end of the insertion member, and a coupling member for detachably coupling the hard tip and the distal end of the insertion member together. An angioscope has irrigation system with at least two presettable irrigant flow rates. A footswitch under manual control is operatively connected to a roller pump for switching from a high first flow rate to a low second flow rate. Upon an initial filling of a blood vessel under observation with clear irrigant at the high flow rate, the operator switches to the low flow rate. The rate of fluid flow may alternatively be continuously variable under manual control.

A radioactive ray detecting endoscope comprises an elongated insertable part, an ultrasonic imaging apparatus provided in the tip part of the insertable part for transmitting ultrasonic waves toward an observed part, for receiving echoes from the observed part by these ultrasonic waves, and for outputting a signal for forming an ultrasonic image and a radioactive ray detecting apparatus arrangeable in the tip part of the insertable part for detecting radioactive rays. Preferably, the observing direction of the ultrasonic imaging apparatus and the detecting direction of the radioactive ray detecting apparatus substantially coincide with each other.

The system is provided with a frozen-picture memorization controlling device so that a frozen picture free from a large blur may be stored in synchronization with the signal output from a heart pulsation measuring device for measuring the heart pulsation of the living body and at the timing that the action of a myocardium is reduced.
