An air nozzle apparatus that includes an air orifice and a nozzle housing, said nozzle housing configured as u-shaped having a first elongated sidewall, a second elongated sidewall, and a third curved sidewall formed continuous with said first elongated sidewall and said second elongated sidewall to form a channel having an open end opposite said third curved sidewall, said air orifice positioned centered in said channel and proximate a base of said third sidewall facing said open end, wherein said first elongated sidewall, said second elongated sidewall, and said third curved sidewall are configured having an arched top surface, and, thus, functions to optimize the Coanda effect to position and convey the paper web through an air threading chute to thread a paper web from the end of the drying step through the dry-end to the paper winding step.

Web air threading system and methods of use

The disclosure relates to a continuous cleaning method for cleaning a moving fabric in a paper machine. The method uses one or more cleaning stages. In one embodiment, one cleaning stage applies steam to heat and soften contaminants on the fabric followed by the application of water, preferably superheated water, to remove the contaminants. Another cleaning stage may apply hot water, steam and/or superheated water via an encapsulated shower and evacuation chamber making it possible to clean the width of the fabric without substantial rewet.

Process for cleaning a transport belt for manufacturing a paper web

Described herein are methods and systems for reducing, preventing, or eliminating wrinkles in a paper sheet during papermaking. The systems may include a dryer configured to dry a continuous paper sheet having a travel direction. The system may also include at least one roll configured to receive the dried continuous paper sheet. The systems may also include an air spreader located downstream of the dryer and upstream of the at least one roll. The at least one roll may include one or more calendering rolls. The air spreader may include a plurality of nozzles configured to expel a gas toward the dried sheet. The nozzles may be oriented in a direction at least partially opposed to the travel direction of the dried sheet.

The disclosure relates to a method for trimming unwanted edges from a moving paper web. The disclosure also relates to the trimming of unwanted edges while the web is traveling on a structured papermaking fabric. The method uses a water nozzle having a diameter of 0.02&#x2033; or less. The method also includes the removal of the unwanted edge trimmings to a trim chute through the use of moving air, for example, an air knife. The disclosure also relates to an edge trimming apparatus.
