A linear actuating earthing switch configuration that moves movable contacts using linear motion in a single axis. The earthing switch includes a frame with a rail on a slide wall. A sliding carriage slides on the rail in a linear direction, the sliding carriage including a plurality of movable contacts. A stored energy element provides a linear expansion force between the frame and the sliding carriage when the earthing switch is in an open position.

Linear actuating earthing switch

A scalable earthing switch that incorporates a torsion spring to effect rapid closure of the switch. The torsion spring is supported coaxially about a rotatable shaft on which contact blades are mounted resulting in compact design. The blade contacts are separated axially along the length of the shaft by one or more spacers. By using difference size spacers the distance between adjacent blade contacts can be changed and, thus, the earthing switch can be easily scaled for different applications. A latching (detent) mechanism is provided for latching the switch in an open position.

Modular soft starters are disclosed having a plurality of soft starter modules with stacked SCRs and heat sinks for accommodating a single phase of a three phase motor, where the modules may be connected serially for starting each phase of a higher voltage motor, and where the modules can be mounted in a cabinet in a variety of different orientations to facilitate optimized cabinet space utilization.

Methods and apparatus for flux dispersal in link inductor

A multi-phase vacuum contactor occupying a minimal space envelope. The contactor features a housing; a carriage; an electromagnetic actuator fixed to the housing and having a reciprocating armature connected to the carriage; and a plurality of vacuum interrupters each having a reciprocating stem for the actuation thereof, wherein the vacuum interrupters are fixed to the housing and circumferencially arranged about the electromagnetic actuating mechanism such that longitudinal axes of the vacuum interrupters are substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the electromagnetic actuating mechanism, and wherein the stem of each vacuum interrupter is connected to the carriage.

Multi-phase vacuum switch arrangement including an electromagnet

A pin-less retainer for mounting a press-pack device, which includes circumscribing fins for preventing arc formation between terminal faces thereof, onto the rods of a clamping mechanism used to stack a plurality of such devices and heat sinks together. The retainer is constructed out of a semi-flexible sheet having two mirrored sections, each section having a void therein and at least two extending tabs. The voids are sized such that the retainer may be press-fitted into interstices between the fins, and the tabs are shaped and sized to suspend the press-pack device from the rods and axially align the press-pack device with other elements of the stack. The retainer, being a pin-less mount, facilitates the easy and rapid removal of a press-pack device from a stack without having to completely disassemble it.
