One embodiment provides a method, including: receiving, at an information handling device, an indication to open a text object; identifying, based upon analysis of context data associated with the text object, at least one article of key information contained within the text object; ascertaining, using a camera sensor, an aspect of user gaze within the text object; determining, based on the identified at least one article of key information and the ascertained aspect of user gaze, a degree to which a user is apprised of the at least one article of key information contained within the text object; and providing, based on the determining, a visual indication of the degree to which the user is apprised of the at least one article of key information. Other aspects are described and claimed.

Indication of key information apprisal

A user who is currently unauthorized to access a resource sends a request to access the resource. It is determined whether a number of authorized users of the resource who have indicated that the user should be permitted to access the resource satisfies the threshold condition. If the number of authorized users who have indicated that the user should be permitted access satisfies the threshold condition, the user is permitted to access the resource. The threshold condition can be based on replies received responsive to messages sent to the authorized users of the resource asking whether the user should be permitted to access the resource. The threshold condition can be based on public digital keys of the authorized users from the user.

A peer-to-peer wireless connection is established between a mobile client computing device and a server computing device, and information is communicated between the mobile client computing device and the server computing device over this connection. The information is sufficient for the server computing device and/or the mobile client computing device to authenticate the mobile client computing device with the server computing device. After the mobile client computing device has been authenticated with the server computing device, a user of the mobile client computing device is permitted to perform management tasks on the server computing device using the mobile client computing device, such as over the peer-to-peer wireless connection. For example, license keys can be moved from the mobile client computing device to the server computing device to upgrade the server computing device, and from the server computing device to the mobile computing device to downgrade the server computing device.

Embodiments of the invention provide for user permissions based control of pooled FoD activation keys. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for user permissions based control of pooled FoD activation keys is provided. The method includes pooling one or more authorization codes for access by different end users in activating different features of a set of hardware components using FoD. The method also includes responding to an FoD request to activate one of the features by a particular one of the end users by determining whether or not a pre-defined code usage policy permits the particular one of the end users to use a pooled one of the authorization codes and if permitted according to the pre-defined code usage policy, generating an FoD activation key with the pooled one of the authorization codes and activating the one of the features with the FoD activation key.

Embodiments of the invention provide a method, system and computer program product for physical location tagging via image recognition of physical components in a data center. The method includes acquiring an image scan of a field of view of a camera at a known location in a data center and matching an image of a device in the image scan to a pre-stored image of a similar device to determine a device type of the device in the image scan. The method also includes transmitting a directive to a known device in inventory of the determined device type to activate a visual indicator disposed on an exterior portion of the known device. Finally, the method includes re-acquiring the image scan to detect an activated visual indicator on the device in the image scan and, in response, mapping the known location in the data center to the known device in inventory.

Systems and methods for map generation for an environment based on captured images are disclosed. According to an aspect, a method includes capturing a first image of an environment. The method also includes identifying a reference in the first image. Further, the method includes generating, based on the identified reference, a map of the environment to use for physically orienting a computing device within the environment based on a second image including the reference.

Aspects of the present invention include a device and system for providing reflective electrochromic switching devices having an optically reflective layer with at least one electrochromic material, a substrate, and an excitation means and controller for transmitting received light in association with transmissivity of the reflective layer at a predetermined time. The devices may be used in an array or system format to provide improved display resolutions in a manner where the devices are fixedly mounted in relation to an emitting light source.

Protection is provided for optically readable media. Data may be scrambled, encrypted, or otherwise obscured by apportioning the data across multiple layers of a disc in a secret pattern. Pattern information may be supplied in the form of a key to authorized devices or users. The data can only be read by an optical drive with the proper hardware having access to this key. Switchable mirrored regions are provided on the optical medium to selectively block and unblock an optical reader head from reading the data. To read the data back, an authorized/licensed device may use the key to selectively switch the electrochromic regions so that the reader head may access the data while alternately focusing on different data layers, as needed, to obtain the data in the proper order.

A conference table display system, which includes a screen displayed on top of a conference table. The screen is capable of displaying multiple desktop views. The system further includes multiple storage devices, each storage device containing information related to a particular user. The location and size of each desktop view on the screen is associated with a particular storage device. The computer system causes information from the storage device to be displayed on the screen in a desktop view. When a new storage device is coupled to the computer system, the computer system adjusts the sizes and the locations of the desktop views displayed on the screen to enable information from the new storage device to be displayed on the screen in a desktop view at a location and of a size associated with the new storage device.

An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a device and a counter system coupled thereto. The counter system provides an indication of a number of times the device is inserted into a slot. Through the use of the device disclosed above, a history and a number of insertions of a particular device within a system can be known and therefore it can be determined if the integrity of the device is threatened.

A ballistic logic gate is disclosed. The ballistic logic gate may include an etched silicon substrate with a pair of etched silicon triangular baffles defining input channels. An electron may travel through the input channels toward a nano-deflector with a parabolic deflection surface. The parabolic deflection surface may guide electrons into a fixed path of an output channel toward an output terminal for performing a logic function.
