A joint assembly joins first and second components about a common axis. The first component has a first end portion having a radially outwardly facing surface shaped to fit radially inside a second surface of a hollow second end portion of the second component to form an interface between the opposing first and second surfaces. The first and second surfaces have a concavity extending laterally with respect to the axis such that when the first and second surfaces are opposingly arranged the opposing concavities define a cavity at the interface. A retaining member is insertable into the cavity at the interface to prevent axial separation of the first and second components. One of the first and second end portions has a free end protrusion axially spaced from the concavity and the other of the first and second end portions has an axially extending recess arranged to receive the free end.

A gas turbine engine for an aircraft comprising an engine core comprising a turbine, a compressor, and a core shaft connecting the turbine to the compressor; a fan located upstream of the engine core, the fan comprising a plurality of fan blades; a gearbox that receives an input from the core shaft and outputs drive to the fan so as to drive the fan at a lower rotational speed than the core shaft, and a front mount and a rear mount, the front and rear mounts being configured to connect the gas turbine engine to the aircraft, wherein the front mount is coupled to a casing of the engine core and the front mount is located at substantially the same axial position as a centre of gravity (CG) of the gas turbine engine or forward of the centre of gravity of the gas turbine engine.

Geared turbofan engine mount arrangement

There is disclosed an access port for a casing of a gas turbine engine and a plug for plugging the access port. The access port and plug each include first and second baulking formations which are configured to engage with one another. The first and second baulking formations are spaced from one another by a unique angular separation which allows only the correct plug to be inserted into the correct access port.

Disclosed is a unison ring assembly. The assembly comprises a first unison ring and a second unison ring concentrically aligned along a principal axis, the first and second unison rings being rotatable about the principal axis. The assembly further comprises a gear mechanism configured to simultaneously rotate the first and second unison rings about the principal axis.
