Certain examples involve a circadian effect light fixture. The circadian effect light fixture includes a controller to receive a modifying factor based on a circadian impact profile. The modifying factor includes an indication of an intensity value, a correlated color temperature value, and a color value over a range of time. The circadian effect light fixture also includes a first lighting element controlled by the controller to produce a first light output having a first intensity, a first correlated color temperature, and a first color value. Further, the circadian effect light fixture includes a second lighting element controlled by the controller to produce a second light output having a second intensity, a second correlated color temperature, and a second color value. A combined light output of the first lighting element and the second lighting element tracks the modifying factor over the range of time.

Systems and methods to provide circadian impact

Certain examples involve controlling a circadian impact of a lighting system. For instance, a lighting system includes a first lighting fixture. The first lighting fixture includes at least one lighting element to illuminate a first space and a first controller to control a first light output of the at least one lighting element. Additionally, the lighting system includes a first background circadian system that provides a first modifying factor to the first controller of the first lighting fixture. The first modifying factor is associated with a first circadian impact profile that specifies a first circadian impact level in the first space. Further, the first controller of the first lighting fixture controls the first light output based on the first modifying factor.

A system allows a light fixture to have a wider range of color temperatures (CCT) while limiting the warmest temperature reached at full intensity. The CCT of the light output may be controlled independently of intensity across a certain range of CCT and dependent on intensity across another range. In an implementation, both intensity and CCT may be adjusted from a single handle, where the interface positions may be divided into multiple zones. In another implementation, intensity may be adjusted from a first handle, while CCT may be adjusted from a second handle. The CCT of the light output may be limited to cooler levels when the intensity is higher, and/or the intensity of the light may be limited to lower levels when the CCT is warmer.

Method for controlling a tunable white fixture using a single handle

A processing device can digitally control lighting fixtures by receiving a request to generate light at a correlated color temperature ('CCT') level in an environment. The environment can include a first lighting fixture having a first range of generatable CCT values and a second lighting fixture having a second range of generatable CCT values. The processing device can determine a first CCT value based on the request and the first range. The processing device can further determine a second CCT value based on the first CCT value and the second range. The processing device can further transmit a first digital signal to the first lighting fixture to cause the first lighting fixture to generate light at the first CCT value. The processing device can further transmit a second digital signal to the second lighting fixture to cause the second lighting fixture to generate light at the second CCT value.
