A system for commissioning a smart luminaire (A,B) in an indoor positioning system () includes a mobile device () including a mobile device control processor () in communication with a commissioning application (), the commissioning application configured to communicate with one or more position beacons (A,B) distributed throughout a spatial volume of a structure, the one or more position beacons configured to broadcast a unique identifier within the spatial volume via a wireless communication protocol, and to receive a transmission from the mobile device; a wireless transceiver () in the mobile device configured to receive the broadcasted positions, and to transmit data to the one or more position beacons, and the commissioning application configured to authenticate itself to the position beacon, and to programmatically change the unique identifier. A method for commissioning smart luminaires and a non-transitory computer-readable medium containing executable instructions is also disclosed.

System and method for nonintrusive commissioning of elements to an indoor positioning system

A position tracking system includes one or more beacon transmitters and one or more beacon receiver systems configured to be disposed on an object. Each of the one or more beacon receiver systems includes one or more photodetectors configured to receive signals from the one or more beacon transmitters, and an analog-to-digital convertor to convert analog signals received by the one or more photodetectors to digital signals. Each of the one or more beacon receiver systems also includes a memory and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory. The instructions includes receiving signals collected by the one or more photodetectors, converting the received signals to digital signals, and processing the digital signals.

Positioning system based on visible light communications

An occupancy sensor device for monitoring a space includes a transmitter portion and a receiver portion. The receiver portion is located remotely from the transmitter portion. To enable reliable detection of occupancy within the monitored space, an estimate of the signal transmitted by the active sensor in the transmitter portion is compared to the signal received by the transmitted portion.

Long-range ultrasonic occupancy sensor with remote transmitter

Provided is a system for soft switching of an electromechanical relay in a lighting control system using a sensor to detect a specified non-zero position in the electrical input waveform. Following this non-zero position, an adaptive time delay is applied before activation of the relay coil. An error detection circuit measures a time error between relay operation and the zero electrical input condition. This error signal is used to update the adaptive time delay for future relay operations. Using such a procedure has been shown to limit electrical stress on the relay, and therefore lengthen its life.

Method and system for soft switching of a relay

A power supply circuit for a remote load and a local controller includes a line connection receiving electrical power from an AC source. A load connection connects to the remote load. A switch is located between the line and load connections. Power is supplied to the load from the AC source through the switch. The switch is selectively opened and closed by the controller. A low voltage supply portion supplies power from the AC source to the controller. The low voltage supply portion includes an energy storage device for storing electrical energy for the controller. A current-limited earth ground portion conducts charging current from the energy storage device to earth and prevents charging current conducted to earth from exceeding a predetermined current level. An earth ground bypass portion conducts at least some of the charging current to the load when the switch located between the line and load is open.

An overhead occupancy sensor assembly includes a housing, a lens disposed in the housing, a sensing element disposed behind the lens and configured to detect light, and a light blocking element, the light blocking element being configured to block light from reaching the sensing element. The light blocking element is a re-shapeable filter element or a rejection pattern of the lens. A continuous range of motion extension adapter may be included to allow optimal positioning of the sensor device for improved detection.
