A tracking module processes the determined correlations to track a carrier of the received composite signal for estimation of a change in phase over a time period between a receiver antenna and one or more satellite transmitters that transmit the received signal as the receiver changes position with respect to an initial position during the time period. A relative position estimator estimates the relative position of the navigation receiver with respect to an initial position over the time period time by time-differencing of the phase measurements of the one or more tracked carrier signals. Bias estimators can estimate or compensate for errors in initial position and temporal changes in receiver clock and tropospheric delay.

Satellite navigation receiver for relative positioning with bias estimation

A heat sink assembly for quickly coupling and uncoupling to an arc lamp package includes a front heat sink and a rear heat sink coupled by insulators. Both of the heat sinks and the insulators are longitudinally split. One insulator is provided with hinges and the other with a latching device so that the heat sink assembly can be opened and clamped closed easily. The interior of the heat sinks are profiled to conform to a known lamp package but with a slightly smaller diameter. The rear heat sink is preferably provided with a hole for the lamp package's locating pin and the front heat sink is provided with a light exit port. Rectangular and cylindrical embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In the rectangular embodiment, the cooling fins can be arranged either horizontally or vertically. A lever latching device and a knob latching device are also disclosed. When the latching device is unlocked, the heat sink assembly can be opened like a book and the lamp package installed in its profiled recesses. When the assembly is closed and the latching device is locked, the lamp package is clamped firmly between the split front and rear heat sinks so that each heat sink makes a good electrical and thermal connection with the lamp package.

Removable heat sink for xenon arc lamp packages

A light intensity control device for an endoscope or similar instrument comprising a light source, a fiberoptic cable connected at one to the light source, and a non-electrical diaphragm assembly connected between the end face of the fiberoptic cable and the end face of the fiberoptic bundle within the endoscope. The diaphragm assembly comprises an adjustable opening for receiving light from the end face of the cable for the transmission of light therethrough. A solid member of transparent material between the adjustable opening and the end face of the fiberoptic bundle within the endoscope transmits the light from the cable to the endoscope.

Line fiberoptic light control module

A light emitting panel formed by a single layer of parallel and contiguously arranged clad optical fibers supplied with light from a source at one end of the panel. The fibers are cemented together and the cladding is removed from the light emitting surface of the panel. In one embodiment, each fiber is looped at the end of the panel remote from the source of light so that both ends of each fiber is connected to the source of light.

Fiber optic light panel

A mini foldable cycle having a single front wheel for steering and a pair of adjacent wheels in tandem located at the rear for propelling the vehicle. The tandem arranged rear wheels, with the front tandem wheel slightly higher than the rear tandem wheel, gives the cycle the feel and comfort of a large wheeled vehicle so that very small wheels are required. The cycle consequently is small and light, and is made foldable so that it can be reduced to a very small package for convenience of being transported.

An adjustable ring light for concentrating multiple beams of light in which the point of convergence can be moved along an axis. In an embodiment, the light sources which may be the ends of bundles of optical fibers, are mounted in tiltable carriers which are adjusted by rotation of a housing cover. In other embodiments tilting is accomplished by bending tabs or rotating a disk having slots through which the light sources project.

Adjustable ring light

A multiple lamp system for use with fiber optic light guide for automatically switching from a main lamp to a standby lamp upon failure of the former. A solenoid is employed with the inductor in the circuit of the main lamp to overcome the bias of the switch in the standby lamp circuit to keep the former open. When the main lamp fails causing interruption of current flow, the switch closes thereby permitting energization of the standby lamp. An indicator is provided to show which lamp is functioning.
