A data structure in a computer-readable form is provided that includes a string construct and a data construct. The string construct is formed by translations of a string of values. The tag construct is concatenated to the string construct and includes at least one tag value. The tag construct represents at least two translations that were performed on the string of values to produce the string construct.

The present invention is directed, in one embodiment, to a programming interface which enables device/protocol/network independent transmission of messages to, and programming of, mobile devices. In another embodiment, the present invention is directed to data structures maintained on, and supported by, the mobile devices. Receiving wireless information and storing the wireless information in memory of the wireless receiver. A screen saver program is provided within a computer system. The screen saver program includes a note facility for generating notes. The notes facility includes a note-taker interface. The screen saver program is run on the computer system and in response to receiving input from a user, the note-taker interface is displayed on a video display of the computer system. In response to input by the user via the note-taker interface, a note is created. Subsequently, the screen saver program is dismissed and the note is displayed on the video display when the screen saver is dismissed.

A plurality of toolbars that include graphic objects, which can be selected by the user, are arranged in a stack. Only the graphic objects on one or more selected toolbars are displayed. The user can selectively choose a toolbar that has graphic objects currently hidden by the selected toolbar(s), causing one or more of the toolbars to move aside, exposing the group of graphic objects associated with the toolbar newly selected by the user. Movement of the toolbar(s) to disclose the graphic objects on the newly selected toolbar is preferably accomplished by animating the toolbar(s) to slide to different positions, so that the graphic objects or buttons on the newly selected toolbar are displayed. For added realism, the animation sequence used to disclose graphic objects on a selected toolbar includes an audible sound and a 'bump' as the toolbar(s) reach a rest position.
