A thrombectomy catheter deployment for operation of a thrombectomy catheter may include a stand alone drive unit and a disposable pump/catheter assembly which is manually placed into a carriage assembly in the drive unit. The pump/catheter assembly may have a plurality of preconnected components including a tubular structure and a thrombectomy catheter connected thereto. A barcode reader may sense specific operational data pertaining to an individual pump and may provide an interface for operation of the reciprocating linear actuator.

Thrombectomy catheter deployment system

Air-in-line sensor systems and methods of using same are provided. The system includes an adapter () including first and second cylindrical portions defining a fluid flow channel, the first cylindrical portion comprising two adjacent wedge-shaped protrusions (). Each wedge-shaped protrusion is infrared transmittive and defines an outer surface and an inner surface. The system further includes a tube and an infrared reflective sensor having an infrared light emitter () and an infrared light detector (). The infrared light emitter and the infrared light detector are positioned at or near an adapter so that an infrared light can be transmitted to the adapter and at least a portion of the infrared light reflected off the adapter can be detected by the infrared light detector.

The present disclosure provides cassettes and methods of using same for the delivery of fluids to a patient using fluid delivery systems. In a general embodiment, the cassettes of the present disclosure include a flexible tube, a housing having a recessed area and first and second ends for holding the flexible tube, and at least two additional components including, for example, different sensors, false reading components for sensors, anti-flow valve means, insertion guides, directional indicators, latch mechanisms, kink-prevention notches, etc. Such additional components provide the cassettes of the present disclosure with several advantages including, for example, quality control, efficiency of use, cost effectiveness, and safety of use.

Occlusion sensor systems and methods of using the occlusion sensor systems are provided. In a general embodiment, the present disclosure provides a sensor device includes a tube and an infra-red reflective sensor comprising an infra-red light emitter and an infra-red phototransistor receiver or photo-diode. The infra-red reflective sensor and the infra-red phototransistor receiver or photo-diode are positioned at or near the tube so that an infra-red light can be transmitted to a portion of the tube and at least a portion of the infra-red light reflected off the portion of the tube can be detected by the infra-red phototransistor receiver or photo-diode.

Methods of conducting thrombectomy procedures and deploying a thrombectomy catheter are disclosed. A thrombectomy procedure is conducted with a thrombectomy catheter deployment system. A drive unit configured to operate an infusion pump is provided. The drive unit is operable according to one or more operating modes. A preconnected and consolidated pump and catheter assembly configured for loading in the drive unit is also provided. The assembly is separate from the drive unit prior to loading. The infusion pump and a catheter of the assembly are in communication prior to loading. The assembly provides one or more digital instructions to the drive unit. The drive unit is operable according to the one or more operating modes referenced by the one or more digital instructions. The assembly is loaded into the drive unit, and the drive unit is engaged to the infusion pump for operation of the infusion pump.

Methods of conducting thrombectomy procedures and deploying a thrombectomy catheter

A medical fluid delivery system includes a dialysis instrument; a disposable pumping cassette operable with a pumping actuator of the dialysis instrument, the disposable cassette including or connected fluidly to a plurality of first connectors; a plurality of second connectors configured to interface with the first connectors, each second connector associated with a radio frequency ('RFID') tag; and electronics configured to read the RFID tags via a plurality of antennae and to identify that each of the second connectors is positioned properly with respect to a proper one of the first connectors.

A method of providing a back up communications link for control messages within a delivery unit. The primary means of transport for both network data and control data within the delivery unit is by means of ingress and egress buses between application modules of the delivery unit. However, control messages from a unit controller can also be delivered by means of a separate link, typically to a bus control module.
