Methods, systems, and programming for retrieving content items for a search are described herein. In a non-limiting embodiment, a query including a plurality of terms may be received. For each of the plurality of terms, a posting list of one or more content items may be obtained. The posting list may include a ranked list of term scores corresponding to the one or more content items, each of the term scores being indicative of a level of relevance of a corresponding content item to a term associated with the posting list. A list of relevant content items for the query may be determined based on the term scores in each posting list for the one or more content items identified with respect to each term. At least one of the relevant content items may be provided as a response to the query.

System and method for top-k searching using parallel processing

Devices and techniques are generally described for ranking of search results based on multiple objectives. In various examples, a first set of search results may be determined. A first objective and a second objective for ranking the first set of search results may be determined. A first label associated with the first objective may be selected for a first training data instance. A second label associated with the second objective may be selected for a second training data instance. A first machine learning model may be generated using the first training data instance and the second training data instance. In some examples, the first machine learning model may be effective to rank the first set of search results based at least in part on the first objective and the second objective.

Methods and devices for assessing the quality of user-generated content are described. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed for measuring the quality of a user-generated answer to a question by combining various factors, including question-answer surface word vector similarity, question-answer explicit semantic analysis vector similarity, answer-answer explicit sematic analysis vector similarity, query performance predictor, sentiment analysis, textual analysis of the answer, and reputation of the answerer. The method uses a learning procedure to determine the best algorithm for measuring the overall quality of the answer based on these factors.

The instant disclosure provides an interactive search suggestion mechanism that narrows the search as the user interacts with the dynamically generated and provided suggestions.

Computerized system and method for automatically generating and providing interactive query suggestions within an electronic mail system

Techniques are disclosed. The techniques include receiving, by a computing device, an answer to a query, the answer comprising a content element and a metadata element. Based on the content element and the metadata element, the techniques generate a presentable sentence of a plurality of presentable sentences. The techniques then utilize a machine learning model to determine a relevance score for the presentable sentence based on the query and the presentable sentence, the relevance score being of a set of relevance scores and corresponding to a measure of relevance with respect to the presentable sentence answering the query. The techniques then select a portion of the plurality of presentable sentences based on a ranking of the set of relevance scores and transmit the portion to a user device for presentation on a voice-based interface of the user device.
