A fingerprint sensor, comprising fingerprint sensing circuitry configured to sense a fingerprint of a finger, and to provide a representation of the fingerprint; a sensor interface coupled to the fingerprint sensing circuitry, and comprising at least a first input pad for input to the fingerprint sensor of at least a first digital signal, and at least one output pad for output from the fingerprint sensor of a digital data signal encoding the representation of the fingerprint; and IO-voltage determining circuitry coupled to the first input pad and configured to sense a voltage level of the first digital signal, and to determine, based on the sensed voltage level of the first digital signal, a nominal voltage level to use for the digital data signal encoding the representation of the fingerprint.

The present disclosure relates to a fingerprint sensing system and a method performed by the fingerprint sensing system of verifying that setting data of a fingerprint sensor of the fingerprint sensing system has not been modified. In aspect, a method performed by a fingerprint sensing system of verifying that setting data of a fingerprint sensor of the fingerprint sensing system has not been modified is provided. The method comprises blocking access to the fingerprint sensor setting data held in a storage of the fingerprint sensing system, acquiring from the fingerprint sensor a representation of the fingerprint sensor setting data to be utilized upon capturing a fingerprint image, and verifying from the acquired representation if the fingerprint sensor setting data corresponds to fingerprint sensor setting data that previously was written to the storage.

The method comprises the steps of monitoring, by the power management circuitry, a property indicative of a supply voltage to the processing circuitry; controlling, when the monitored property indicates that the supply voltage has fallen to a first threshold voltage, the processing circuitry to transition from the first functional state to the second functional state; and controlling, when the monitored property indicates that the supply voltage has increased to a second threshold voltage higher than the first threshold voltage, the processing circuitry to transition from the second functional state to the first functional state.

The present invention relates to a method for determining a finger movement event on a fingerprint sensor. The method comprises to acquire signals indicative of the portion of finger detecting structures that may be touched by a finger. Based on the ratio between the signals and a total signal level, the position of the finger on the fingerprint sensing device can be determined at two different time instances. Based on the positions which may be the same, a finger movement event may be determined. The invention also relates to a corresponding fingerprint sensing device.

A fingerprint-based navigation method using a finger navigation system comprising fingerprint sensing circuitry and navigation control circuitry. The method is comprised of the steps generating a phase rotation estimate from the equalized communications signal and a demodulated signal estimate of the equalized communications signal, and adjusting at least one of the phase and frequency of the equalized communications signal based on the phase rotation estimate. The step of generating the phase rotation estimate further comprising using a model based filter with the equalized communications signal as input signal to the model based filter and the demodulated signal estimate as a measurement to the model based filter.
