A magnetic drive device may comprise a stator comprising a plurality of windings for generating a first number of magnetic pole pairs and a rotor comprising a plurality of permanent magnets for generating a second number of magnetic pole pairs that differs from the first number of magnetic pole pairs. The magnetic drive device may further comprise a plurality of free-spinning interpole elements disposed within an air gap between the stator and the rotor. The interpole elements may produce a magnetomotive force and harmonically couple the magnetic pole pairs of the stator with the magnet pole pairs of the rotor.

Magnetic drive devices, and related systems and methods

A magnetic gear may comprise a first gear member comprising a plurality of permanent magnets arranged to have a first number of magnetic pole pairs and a second gear member positioned relative to the first gear member. The second gear member may comprise a plurality of individually rotatable magnetized elements each driven and synchronized with one another to selectively generate a second number of magnetic pole pairs that differs from the first number of magnetic pole pairs. The magnetic gear may further comprise a plurality of interpole elements positioned between the first and second gear members. The plurality of interpole elements may be disposed to harmonically couple the magnetic pole pairs of the first gear member with the magnetic pole pairs of the second gear member for each selectively generated second number of magnetic pole pairs.

Magnetic gears, and related systems and methods

A system for monitoring wellsite equipment at a wellsite is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of client devices. Each client device has radios with programmable channels. The client devices include a source client device, a base station client device, and a repeater client device. The source client device is mounted to the wellsite equipment and includes a sensor to measure wellsite parameters of the wellsite equipment. The base station client device is coupled to the surface unit for communication therewith. The repeater client device is positioned at the wellsite to communicate with the source client device and the base station client device.

Multi-level wellsite monitoring system and method of using same

A system for monitoring a drilling rig operation includes a drilling rig assembly and at least one sensor coupled to a member of the drilling rig assembly to sense a parameter related to operation of the drilling rig assembly. A client device coupled to the at least one sensor includes a data acquisition device for receiving data from the at least one sensor. The client device also includes a first radio, which is coupled to the data acquisition device. A base station located a distance from the client device comprises a second radio that communicates wirelessly with the first radio in order to transfer data between the data acquisition device and the base station.

Generally, the present disclosure is directed to wellbore tubular running systems and methods of their use. In one illustrative embodiment, a tubular running system is disclosed that includes, among other things, a torque frame, a main shaft extending through a top opening of the torque frame and rotatable by rotation apparatus, slip setting apparatus connected to the torque frame and including a levelling beam and a plurality of slip assemblies, each of the slip assemblies connected independently and pivotably to the levelling beam, and movement apparatus connected to the levelling beam for moving the slip assemblies in unison with respect to a tubular projecting into the torque frame.

A method for oscillating a drillstring, the drillstring extending into the earth, the drillstring having a bit on a lower end thereof, the bit for drilling into the earth, the drillstring connected to a motive apparatus, the motive apparatus for rotating the drillstring, the motive apparatus having a power output associated with rotating the drillstring, the method including, in certain aspects, determining a first amount of energy and a second amount of energy, said determining based on the power output of the motive apparatus, applying the first amount of energy to the drillstring in a first rotational direction, applying the second amount of energy to the drilling in a second rotational direction, the second rotational direction opposite to the first rotational direction, the application of both the first amount of energy and the second amount of energy not moving the bit.
