A method of performing a retail transaction with a retail terminal having (i) a display monitor which includes a touch screen, (ii) a scanner, and (iii) a card reader. The method includes the step of displaying a home display screen with the display monitor. The home display screen has a first plurality of local-navigation touch buttons which are located in a first local navigation area and a first plurality of global-navigation buttons which are located in a first global navigation area. Use of the local-navigation touch buttons and the global-navigation touch buttons facilitates use of the retail terminal by a user to complete a retail transaction. A retail terminal is also disclosed.

Enclosure for electronic equipment

An interlocking base for use with stacked interlocking electronic assemblies which increases the mechanical stability of the base-stack combination. The increased stability allows a stack of up to four electronics assemblies to be subjected to an inclination of 15 degrees from the vertical in any direction without falling over. The base is furnished with an AC power cord and an ON/OFF AC power switch to provide single switch control of the ACs power conducted to the electronic assemblies of the stack. Single switch control saves operator time and motion, and also prevents accidentally leaving one of the assemblies of the stack ON while turning all the others OFF at the completion of work.

Base for stackable assemblies

A one piece jumper power cord molded out of rubber or some other insulating material. The one piece power cord conforms to the rear shape of a vertical stack of electronic devices that it interconnects. By keeping the power cords short and properly shaped, power can be jumpered from a lower device housed in a lower enclosure of the vertical stack to an upper device housed in an upper enclosure without a loose jumper cord dangling therebetween, wasting space and providing a possible hazard for passing objects or persons to catch on.
