Methods and systems for creating a webpage having different element orders for different webpage widths are disclosed. A computing device receives inputs specifying different layouts of elements in different orders for different webpage widths. The computing device creates markup code for the webpage that specifies separate subtrees of nodes for the different layouts and then modifies the markup code to replace duplicate nodes with placeholders in the subtrees. The computing device also creates script code for the webpage with instructions for modifying a live DOM created from the markup code based on current webpage width. Specifically, the script code modifies the live DOM to specify positioning the elements differently for different webpage widths by changing the visibility of nodes and swapping placehoders and content nodes in the subtrees.

Creation and display of a webpage with alternative layouts for different webpage widths

One embodiment involves placing a guide on a layout for a page of electronic content including a first object and a second object. The guide contacts the first object and does not contact the second object. The electronic content can be encoded based on the guide contacting the first object and not contacting the second object. The encoded electronic content, when interpreted or executed, can respond to a page size change by resizing a size of the first object on the page and translating a position of the second object on the page. Another exemplary embodiment involves modifying a page including a first object and a second object. The first object can be resized or translated based on an object policy. The second object can be resized or translated based on the modified page size and differently from the resizing or translating of the first object.

Systems and methods for developing adaptive layouts for electronic content

A computer-implemented method can comprise accessing a plurality of pixels representing an image and identifying at least two scanlines in the plurality of pixels. By analyzing the scanlines, a computing device carrying out the method can determine if the image is suited for slicing and, if the image is suited for slicing, the device can determine a slicing strategy by analyzing pixel values of the at least two scanlines. Data indicating the slicing strategy can be used to carry out a resizing operation and/or to generate structured code based on the slicing strategy, such as HTML and CSS code to generate a resizable element corresponding to the image. The slicing strategy can be determined independent of input defining or adjusting boundaries between slices.

Methods and systems for automated image slicing

Various embodiments include one or more of systems, methods, and software for placing multiple files as a contact sheet, such as image files within an electronic document. A selection of electronic files is received along with a an area input. The area input defines an area to place a graphical representation of at least one of the selected electronic files within an electronic file being authored. Graphical representations of the selected electronic files may then be placed in the defined area.

A piece of data is selected from a collection of one or more pieces of data to be inserted. A thumbnail is generated that includes at least some content associated with the selected piece of data. The thumbnail is displayed in place of or with a cursor, where the cursor is associated with specifying an insertion location in a document.

Methods and apparatus implementing systems and techniques for revealing a clipped portion of an image. In general, in one implementation, the techniques include presenting a visual representation of an image object having a clipped portion hidden from view in the visual representation, and during an edit operation, revealing the clipped portion of the image object as a transparent image overlay in the visual representation. In another aspect, the techniques include drawing a first visual representation of an image object in an edit mode that reveals a clipped portion of the image object in the first visual representation, the first visual representation allowing at least a portion of an object lower in a drawing order and underneath the revealed clipped portion to show through the revealed clipped portion, and in response to termination of the edit mode, drawing a second visual representation of the image object in which the clipped portion of the image object is hidden, such that the at least a portion of the lower of object is visible and unobscured by the clipped portion.

A surgical implant is used for imparting stability to the thoraco-lumbar spine by fixation of the implant to the spine with segmental spinal instrumentation. The implant comprises a unitary rod having a generally rectangular configuration formed by a pair of spaced apart branches, mirror image duplicated of one another and equally spaced apart along their entire length. A bight end piece interconnects the branch pair at the superior end portion thereof while a gate forming end piece closes the inferior end portion of the branch pair except for a small gate opening. The gate opening facilitates sublaminar wiring for fixation of the implant to the spine.
