A security device with rotating floodlights comprises a housing having a control circuit and a motor positioned within the housing. A motion detector is mounted on the front wall of the housing. A shaft from the motor engages with a drive platform, and a pair of lamp base platforms is connected to a pair of turntables on the top wall of the housing. The turntables are mounted on the top wall of the housing, and are constructed to be rotatable either clockwise or counterclockwise. Lamp sockets for flood lights are attached to the lamp base platforms. Posts are mounted on the base platforms and drive platforms with linkages engaged with the posts. When the motion detector communicates with the control circuit, and the motor and lights are activated, the platforms turn in a synchronized manner because of the linkages. Illumination is provided for a set period of time and over a swept 180&#xb0; of coverage.

A method and an apparatus that verify the correct operation and calibration of a wobbling coil CRT monitor landing adjustment jig. The video test signal and the wobbling coil signal are disconnected from the CRT under test. The invention receives the video test signal and the wobbling coil signal and generates a modulated video test signal by modulating the video test signal with the wobbling coil signal. The modulated video test signal simulates a correctly adjusted CRT or a CRT with a known amount of misadjustment regardless of the actual state of adjustment of the CRT under test.

A remote actuated command circuit establishes telephone communications between a communications device at a remote location and a local communications terminal device without interference from a telephone answering machine connected to the incoming telephone line. The contacts of an electrical switch, such as a magnetic contact reed switch or a magnetic contact reed relay used in a burglar alarm system, are protected from being fused together by transient current surges. This protection is accomplished by providing a normally nonconductive shunting path in parallel with the switch. The shunting path includes a voltage responsive device which is biased to conduction in response to a current surge to thereby complete the shunting path and allow the current surge to bypass the switch.
