A brake actuator assembly including a pressure plate presenting an opening, a push rod that is coupled to the pressure plate, a diaphragm that is coupled to the pressure plate, and a retainer that engages the push rod. The push rod has an outer surface and at least one protrusion extending outward from the outer surface. The retainer engages the protrusion such that at least a portion of the diaphragm is positioned between the pressure plate and the retainer.

A spring brake actuator having a push rod plate and a diaphragm. A rim projects from the diaphragm for engaging a housing containing the push rod plate. A sidewall is connected to the rim, which is connected to a bottom surface, forming an outer diameter of the diaphragm. Flanges, perpendicular to the diaphragm, extend from the diaphragm forming an inner diameter for which the push rod plate is inserted into. An adhesive is placed between the diaphragm and the push rod plate, wherein the adhesive maintains an attachment and a seal between the diaphragm and the push rod plate keeping the diaphragm and the push rod plate in line with each other.

An air-operated diaphragm brake, more particularly a brake actuator assembly containing a diaphragm with a rib or ring design for centering and maintaining the location of a piston or push plate and for reducing debris build up in the brake actuator assembly. The diaphragm includes a projecting rim for engaging a housing containing a piston, a bottom wall having an interior surface for engaging the piston, a sidewall connecting the projecting rim with the bottom wall; and a plurality of ribs or a ring disposed on the interior surface of the bottom wall. The ribs or ring structure extends in a direction away from the intersection between the sidewall and the bottom wall, toward the center of the interior surface, and revolving around the center point of the interior surface.

Air brake diaphragms

A fluid operated brake actuator is provided composed of a common housing, a shaft rotatable within the housing, the shaft being rotatable to engage and disengage a brake, a vane connected to the shaft, the vane being responsive to fluid pressure to rotate the shaft, a torsion power spring for producing torque to bias the shaft in a first rotational direction; and an inlet port through the housing, the inlet port for introducing fluid pressure into the housing in order to exert a force on the vane in order to rotate the shaft against the bias of the spring.

Actuator and slack adjuster

A spring brake actuator having a flange case and a head is provided. The flange case and the head each have a radially outwardly extending annular flange having a plurality of radially spaced apart axial holes passing therethrough which correspond to and align with each other. A diaphragm is clamped in a fluid tight manner between the annular flange of the head and the annular flange of the flange case. A plurality of disassembleable fastening members pass through the holes in the annular flange of the head and the holes in the annular flange of the flange case in order to undetachably secure the head on the flange case.
