The puzzle storage box disclosed herein may comprise an internal locking mechanism designed to challenge ingenuity while being embedded within an assembly of unlimited form potentiality. In one variation, the internal locking mechanism is embedded in a shallow container and may be used for more personal, everyday carry. In another variation, the internal locking mechanism is embedded in a deeper container for increased volume and prominent display. The internal locking mechanism will be incorporated into endless shapes and forms, and its novel method of operation will be respectively conveyed.

An eyewear with an adjustable indication of vision field comprises an eyewear frame having a right side and a left side opposite the right side, a shade positioning assembly attached to one of the right side and the left side of the eyewear frame, and a shade attached to the eyewear frame at the shade positioning assembly. The eyewear frame has a pair of lens areas positioned between the right side and the left side and adapted to be aligned with a pair of eyes of a user. The shade is formed of a transparent material. The shade is movable along the shade positioning assembly to a plurality of positions among which the shade covers a varying amount of one of the lens areas.

A method for making an alkyl cyclobutane fuel, which includes obtaining a solution of at least one alpha olefin. A catalyst is added to the solution, thereby generating a mixture of dimers. The mixture is hydrogenated, thereby converting the dimers to hydrogenated dimers. The mixture is purified to produce an alkyl cyclobutane fuel.

Alkyl cyclobutane fuels

A system and method for harvesting the kinetic energy of a fluid flow for power generation with a vertically oriented, aerodynamic wing structure comprising one or more airfoil elements pivotably attached to a mast. When activated by the moving fluid stream, the wing structure oscillates back and forth, generating lift first in one direction then in the opposite direction. This oscillating movement is converted to unidirectional rotational movement in order to provide motive power to an electricity generator. Unlike other oscillating devices, this device is designed to harvest the maximum aerodynamic lift forces available for a given oscillation cycle. Because the system is not subjected to the same intense forces and stresses as turbine systems, it can be constructed less expensively, reducing the cost of electricity generation. The system can be grouped in more compact clusters, be less evident in the landscape, and present reduced risk to avian species.

Oscillating fluid power generator

A bridge, comprising a set of arches, each extending longitudinally along the bridge, including at least one central arch and at least two side arches, symmetrically disposed about the central arch. The side arches are slanted transversely inwardly so that they are closest at the longitudinal center of the bridge and are generally disposed either above or below the central arch. In addition, transverse members connect the arches together and a deck is suspended from the set of arches.

A system and method is described for manipulating a plurality of discrete objects in a graphics application, the method comprising generating a set of coordinates for each discrete object, each discrete object bound by at least a horizontal boundary guide and a vertical boundary guide, selecting the boundary guide bounding one of the plurality of discrete objects intended for manipulation, rendering a feedback guide responsive to the selecting, dragging the feedback guide to a final location, and resizing the one of the plurality of discrete objects intended for manipulation and others of the plurality of discrete objects that have the boundary guide sharing an axis with the selected feedback slice guide responsive to the final location.

An air drop device that includes a frame defining a through-hole and that supports a substantially vertical axle, substantially central to the through-hole. A blade assembly is rotatably mounted to the substantially vertical axle. Also, at least three tethers are connected to the frame and are adapted to be connected to the load. In addition, a set of tether length adjust devices, each located on a different one of said tethers, are capable to take-up some of the tether to reduce the length of said tether.

A bridge comprising a set of bases, a deck, an undulating support structure having above-the-deck arch sections and below-the-deck sections and being supported by the set of bases at the below the deck sections. The bridge also includes at least two arrays of load-bearing connectors extending from the above-the-deck arch sections to the deck and supporting substantially the entire weight of the deck. A preferred embodiment of the bridge comprises a deck, a wishbone arch section, including a single topmost middle portion branching transversely into two support legs on either longitudinal side of the topmost middle portion and a set of connectors extending from the wishbone arch to the deck and supporting the deck. The bridge generally includes a deck, an arch and an array of load-bearing connectors extending downwardly and longitudinally inwardly from the arch to the deck and supporting the deck in tension.

A helicopter blade assembly for permitting rapid forward flight in a helicopter having separate means for providing a forward impetus. The assembly has a set of rotatable blades attached to a substantially vertical mast. These blades slope downward near to their distal ends, thereby creating an inverted disk virtual air foil when the blades are rapidly rotated by the mast. In a preferred embodiment the camber of the blades and, therefore, the shape of the virtual air foil is controllable.

A multiwinding inductor is disclosed which inductor is employed in a power control circuit. The power control circuit is of the type having a transformer which has a center tapped primary winding coupled to and associated with a plurality of secondary windings. The primary winding of the transformer is switched by means of switching devices during a power control operation. The inductor has a first winding in the primary which winding has one terminal coupled to the center tap and a second terminal coupled to a generator and a filter arrangement. Another winding of the inductor designated as a free wheeling winding is in series with an auxiliary impedance and has one terminal coupled to the common terminal of the switching devices and a second terminal coupled through a rectifier to the generator. At least two additional windings of the inductor are coupled to suitable rectifier circuits associated with the secondary windings of the transformer. The operation of the inductor causes energy which is stored in the secondary windings to be returned to the generator during circuit operation by means of the free wheeling winding and auxiliary impedance to thereby increase the overall efficiency of the circuit as well as to reduce the magnitude of the filter capacitors employed in such circuits.

Multiwinding inductor and associated apparatus

A constant potential power supply with current overload protection having a series switching regulator including a series switching circuit controlled by both a Schmitt-trigger circuit controlled by an output voltage detector to maintain the output load voltage within a predetermined range during normal operation and a current overload protection circuit having a foldback characteristic which operates when the output current goes above a predetermined value. The Schmitt-trigger circuit is actuated by a signal from an output voltage detection circuit when the output load potential decreases below a certain value to enable the series switching circuit to conduct current to the load from an input voltage source and is disabled as the output load potential goes above a certain value. After actuation of the series switching circuit and until it is disabled, charging current passes into an integrating capacitor. This integrating capacitor, is coupled across the load, and discharges through it when the series switching circuit is cut-off. The current overload protection circuit, which senses the output load current, exclusively controls and enables and disables the series switching circuit of the regulator when the output current increases above a predetermined level. The particular arrangement between the series switching circuit and the current overload protection circuit is such that the current overload circuit is not within the output voltage detection loop thereby improving the overall regulation of the constant potential power supply and provides significant current overload protection thereto.

Current overload protection circuit

A Schmidt trigger voltage regulator having a latching circuit at its input to disable the regulator during an overload condition and automatically resets the latching circuit when the overload condition is removed thereby allowing the regulator to function in its normal voltage regulating mode.

Latch circuit

A switching regulator is series connected to an oscillator. A schmitt trigger responds to load voltage variations to control the on-off conditions of the switching regulator. When the switching regulator is on the oscillator is on to provide through transformer coupling an output to a capacitor connected across the load. When the voltage across the capacitor increases to a predetermined value the schmitt trigger turns the switching regulator off and thereby the oscillator too, the capacitor continuing to discharge into the load.
