A compression latch with a folding handle for selectively holding a door closed, includes. The latch includes a housing with a cup portion for receiving the handle in the folded down position such that the projection of the latch handle above the exterior surface of the door is minimized in the folded-down position. The handle functions to move a pawl in a combination of rotational and rectilinear movements as the pawl is moved between latched and unlatched positions.

Compression latch mechanism

A load floor latch for securing a first closure member to a second closure member. The latch is opened by actuating a handle and a pawl supported on the housing is pivoted away from a keeper on the second closure member by the actuation of the pawl by the handle which is biased to the closed position. The pawl is biased to the closed position. The pawl projects through an opening on the latch housing and also has a pawl projection which is guided during pivoting of the pawl by a portion of the exterior surface of the housing of the latch.

Latch handle mechanism

A multi-point latching system is adapted for mounting on a panel and securing the panel to a frame. The system includes a central latch, remote latches and connecting rods. The central latch includes a housing and a handle assembly pivotably mounted in the housing for rotation about an axis parallel to the panel for opening and closing the central latch. The handle assembly extends through the housing and includes a handle and a pivot arm. The pivot arm extends from the back of the housing. The central latch also includes an actuator pivotably mounted for rotation normal to the panel; and a link connecting the handle assembly to one of the connecting rods, which is also connected to the actuator, such that the actuator is rotated by rotating the handle assembly. The remote latches are engaged by rotation of the actuator plate through the connecting rods.

Multi-point latching system

A pawl assembly is adapted for being mounted in an aperture formed in a door panel for releasably retaining the door against a corresponding frame. The pawl assembly includes as portions thereof a housing which is received within the door panel aperture. The housing is formed having its distal end being conical in shape which allows a mounting nut to be mounted onto the pawl assembly when received in the door panel aperture. A drive member is included which is received within an axial bore formed in the housing and is adapted for rotational movement by an operator. A pawl is secured to the drive member in only one orientation of the pawl in relation to the drive member. The drive member rotation is limited by a protruding member which extends from the housing and into the drive member. The drive member is also included with a flange which is sized at least to completely cover the top of housing which provides a seal for restricting the passage of water, dust and other matter. A biasing member is also included which provides a frictional resistance upon the drive member on its rotational movement and also operates as a detent for releasably retaining the pawl assembly in its fully unlatched and fully latched positions.
