A method of determining user terminal information may include initiating a communication at a first user terminal between the first user terminal and a second user terminal using a telephone number of the second user terminal. Information regarding the second user terminal may then be received at the first user terminal from the second user terminal during the communication over a non-voice channel without opening a voice channel between the first and second user terminals. A portable communication device may determine whether a video camera is in a vicinity of the portable communication device. If so, video taken by the video camera may be used in a video conference conducted from the portable communication device.
