A method for limiting current in-rush in automotive lighting devices. By controlling the state of a switching circuit that is used to selectively connect a power supply to an automotive lighting device, the invention allows for selectively limiting the intensity of the current that is supplied to the lighting device. In accordance with preferred embodiments, this advantage is achieved by relying on electronic components that are nowadays used for different purposes.

Method for limiting current in-rush in automotive lighting devices

A method for a driver device of an automotive lighting device that includes at least two inputs for receiving one electricity supply each, and a power converter circuit for selectively converting the electricity supplied on one of the inputs into a periodic power supply for powering said lighting device. The method allows for switching between inputs of the driver device while reducing the power supply shortage which generally arises at the time of switching inputs. This allows for providing generally flicker-free luminosity while using a single converter circuit.

Method for maintaining luminosity when switching input power in automotive lighting devices

A converter that makes it possible to selectively switch between various converter architectures that are capable of supplying different output voltages on the basis of one and the same input voltage. The various architectures share at least some electronic components with one another, thereby decreasing the production cost of the converter according to the invention. The converter is particularly advantageous for lighting modules for motor vehicles, in which there are substantial space constraints but in which wide output-voltage ranges are required to be able to supply a varied and substantial number of electroluminescent light sources (LEDs) with power.

The subject of the invention is a reflector device for a lighting module of a motor vehicle. The device includes a housing made of plastic, wherein the internal faces are metallized so as to reflect the light received. The housing on an external face of one of its walls has reception means able to house a support including at least one light source, the wall having an opening which leads toward the inside of the housing and which allows the light emitted by the light source or sources to propagate toward the inside of the housing. According to the provisions of the invention, the external face of the housing may be connected to ground potential so as to act as a shield against the electromagnetic waves emitted by various electronic components.

Reflector device for a light module with electromagnetic shielding

The invention proposes a light device casing formed by a wall made of an electrically insulating material, such as a polymer. The casing includes an inner surface forming a housing receiving a light module with a light-emitting diode and a light guide. The inner surface includes a zone reflecting light from the light module out of the casing, and a fixing zone for a control module of the light module. The light device includes a reflecting and electrically conductive coating, which covers both the reflecting zone and the fixing zone. The aluminum coating is cost-effective since it is applied in one step, and it ensures two functions, namely a reflection and a protection against the electromagnetic field.

The invention provides a device for driving the electrical power supply of at least one electronic circuit branch comprising at least one light source of an automotive vehicle. A converter circuit converts an input voltage Vinto a load voltage (or current) that is applied to said circuit branch, and control means are configured to control the converter circuit by means of a periodic PWM signal having a predetermined frequency f. The frequency f is adapted in real time and according to a disruption that is detected in the input voltage signal Vin order to avoid any occurrence of flickering in the intensity of the luminous flux emitted by the light sources.

Device for driving the electrical power supply of light sources of an automotive vehicle

A device that provides a circuit for controlling the power supply of a plurality of groups of light sources, preferably of the light-emitting diodes type, which perform a plurality of lighting functions for an automobile vehicle. The device is noteworthy in that it enables a primary output voltage and several high-voltage secondary outputs to be produced, corresponding to the power supply requirements of the various groups of light sources, with the use of a single switch-mode converter circuit.

A device for attenuating electromagnetic disturbances given off by at least one electronic component, arranged on a printed circuit board mounted on a first face of a board support and bearing at least one light-emitting diode driven by the at least one electronic component for the emission of light rays. A containment cage is arranged around at least the electronic component, it is formed partially by walls made of a piece with the first face and on which the printed circuit board rests, so as to delimit a wave containment zone. The containment zone has an opening, in a first direction, suitable for being blocked or not by a closure piece distinct from the walls. The invention further relates to a light module equipped with such a device, and a motor vehicle comprising a light module according to the invention.
