A delivery member is provided for delivering and deploying an intravascular medical device. The delivery member includes a flexible distal portion including a wound wire coil surrounded by a flexible sleeve and inhibited from extending lengthwise by a stretch resistant member positioned through a lumen of the coil. The delivery member can include hypotubes positioned on either side (distally and proximally) from the wound wire coil to which the stretch resistant member and the wound wire coil can be attached. The flexible sleeve can be fused to the stretch resistant member between windings of the wire coil.

Various systems and methods of delivering an implant to a target location of a body vessel are disclosed. A detachment system can include a tubular body including a lumen extending therethrough and a distal tube on a distal end of the tubular body. A loop wire can be affixed at a first end to the tubular body and can include a loop opening positioned approximate a distal end of the distal tube. A pull wire can extend through the lumen. A hook wire can extend radially through a sidewall of the distal tube and into the lumen. The hook wire can be positioned around a pull wire portion and tensioned such that the pull wire portion abuts the distal tube and provides frictional resistance between the pull wire portion and the sidewall of the distal tube. The frictional resistance can be effective to inhibit premature detachment of the implant.

Various systems and methods of deploying an implant to a target location of a body vessel are disclosed. A delivery system can include a delivery tube and a pull tube, the pull tube at least partially disposed within a first lumen of the delivery tube. A link wire with two proximal ends can be welded to the pull tube and a distal end of the link wire can include a link wire loop. A pull wire can extend through the first lumen with a distal end positioned to secure the implant to the delivery system. The pull wire includes a proximal bend positioned around the link wire loop such that the proximal bend is positioned in a proximal direction relative to the distal end of the link wire loop by a slack length. The slack length is effective to prevent premature detachment of the implant from the delivery system.

A delivery member is provided for delivering and deploying an intravascular medical device. The delivery member includes a flexible distal portion including a wound wire coil surrounded by a flexible sleeve and inhibited from extending lengthwise by a stretch resistant member positioned through a lumen of the coil. The delivery member can include hypotubes positioned on either side (distally and proximally) from the wound wire coil to which the stretch resistant member and the wound wire coil can be attached.

Disclosed herein are various exemplary systems, devices, and methods for inhibiting premature implant deployment. The delivery member can include a body including a lumen extending therethrough, the body including a compressed distal portion. The delivery member can include a pull wire extending through the lumen. The pull wire can include a pull wire portion that extends radially to abut a sidewall of the body to provide frictional resistance against the body. The pull wire can be positioned to secure the implantable medical device to the delivery member, and the pull wire portion can be effective to inhibit premature detachment of the implant by inhibiting proximal translation of the pull wire due to the frictional resistance provided by the pull wire portion against the body.

Systems and methods for inhibiting premature embolic implant deployment

A delivery system for deploying an implantable medical device to a target location of a body vessel can include a tubular body with a lumen extending therethrough, a pull wire extending through the lumen, and a proximal support tube disposed within the lumen and engaged to the pull wire such that proximal translation of the support tube causes proximal translation of the pull wire. The proximal support tube can include a marked distal section that is not visible to an operator of the delivery system prior to the release of the implant and that becomes visible when the proximal support tube is pulled proximally a sufficient distance to cause the delivery system to release the implant.

An embolic coil implant having a stretch resistant fiber therethrough and dual-functional engagement feature at its proximal end is provided. The stretch resistant fiber can be effective to limiting separation of windings of the embolic coil. The engagement feature can provide an attachment for securing the embolic coil to an engagement system of a delivery tube and for securing the stretch resistant fiber at the proximal end of the embolic coil. The engagement feature can have two engagement surfaces affixed to a proximal end of the embolic coil that are longitudinally offset from each other by a distance that is about half of a diameter of a wire of the embolic coil.

An intravascular treatment system including an introducer sheath having an intentional friction zone along a section thereof imposing an intentional friction force on the outer surface of a catheter shaft slidable therein. The friction zone representing a non-straight (e.g., curved or bent) section of the introducer sheath and/or a section of the introducer sheath whose inner wall has a reduced inner diameter (e.g., fused heat shrink material). During intravascular treatment, sufficient axial force may be applied to overcome the imposed intentional friction force and advance the intravascular treatment device in a distal direction to a desired target site in the artery. Once properly positioned, the imposed intentional friction force ensures that the intravascular treatment device is maintained in place.

Delivery and detachment system for an implantable intravascular device, the system including a securement wire in a passageway of an inner support tube. Imposed on the securement wire is a controlled friction force established within an intentional friction zone created by: (i) reflow of an outer sleeve through side port opening(s) in the inner support tube and into the passageway; or (ii) the securement wire having bend(s) creating an associated point(s) of direct physical contact with the inner wall of the inner support tube. During delivery of the implantable intravascular treatment device to a target site, the imposed controlled friction force minimizing movement of the securement wire relative to the inner support tube, and upon reaching the target site, a force being applied to overcome the imparted controlled friction force and releasing the implantable intravascular device.

Various systems and methods of deploying an implant to a target location of a body vessel are disclosed. A delivery system can include a tubular body having a lumen extending therethrough. A pull wire can extend through the lumen with the pull wire including a distal portion. An elastic loop wire can include a loop opening which is positioned approximate a distal end of the tubular body and can include a proximal attachment point that is affixed to the pull wire. The elastic loop wire and the pull wire can be positioned to secure the implantable medical device to the delivery system. The elastic loop wire can be effective to inhibit premature detachment of the implantable medical device from the delivery system by inhibiting proximal translation of the pull wire with respect to the loop opening of the elastic loop wire.
