In a system and method for searching, browsing, and visualizing items, a first image containing an item is received to be stored in an account associated with a user. The first image is processed using a processor to extract an image of the item from the first image. The image of the item is layered over a stream of video frames received from the client device to form a superimposed image. The superimposed image is caused to be displayed on the client device.

In various example embodiments, a system and method for dynamically generating virtual marketplace platforms are presented. The system receives a set of facility data, a set of selections for a set of user interaction objects, and a set of object placement selections. The set of user interaction objects includes a first subset and a second subset. The system generates a virtual facility comprising the facility data and the set of user interaction objects distributed based on the object placement selections. The system receives user data for a user interacting with the virtual facility and one or more objects of the first and second subset of user interaction objects, dynamically arranges the second subset of user interaction objects into a second arrangement and causes presentation of the virtual facility and the set of user interaction objects to the user.

A system described herein uses data obtained from a wearable device of a first user to identify a second user and/or to determine that the first user is within a threshold distance of the second user. The system can then access an account of the second user to identify one or more items and retrieve model data for the item(s). The system causes the wearable device of the first user to render, for display in an immersive 3D environment (e.g., an augmented reality environment), an item associated with the account of the second user. The item can be rendered for display at a location on a display that is proximate to the second user (e.g., within a threshold distance of the second user) such that the item graphically corresponds to the second user. The item rendered for display may be an item of interest to the first user.

In various example embodiments, a system and method for facilitating display of virtual content are presented. A session that displays two-dimensional (2D) content of one or more items available for sale is presented on a first device of a user. A second device of the user is detected, the second device being able to display three-dimensional (3D) content of the one or more items available for sale. 3D content of the one or more items available for sale is retrieved. Display of the 3D content on the second device is caused, the 3D content selectable by the user to perform interactions with the 3D content. An indication of the user performed interactions is received and processed. A result that depicts the user performed interactions as being processed is displayed on the first device of the user.
