There is disclosed an electronic instrument intended to be worn on a user's wrist, such as a wristwatch (), including a case () and a wristband () secured to the case. The case encloses an electronic module (), a display device () and an electric power source () powering the electronic module and the display device. This instrument further includes an antenna () arranged in an off-centre position with respect to the centre (&#x25ef;) of the instrument. The instrument is configured to be worn on the wrist in a first, so-called normal position, and in a second, so-called opposite position, rotated through 180&#xb0; with respect to the first position about an axis (&#x3b1;) substantially perpendicular to the general plane (&#x3a0;) of the electronic instrument. The instrument further includes control means for switching the display device into a first so-called normal display mode, when the instrument is worn in the first position, and into a second so-called reverse display mode, when the instrument is worn in the second position, the data displayed by the display device being shifted through 180&#xb0; from one display mode to the other.

The present invention concerns an automatic time-setting system for a portable object having an horological function. The present invention also concerns a portable object having an horological function capable of being automatically set to the right time, such as an electronic timepiece. According to the present invention, the portable object () includes means () for receiving an acoustic time-setting signal () and means () for deriving time-setting indications (ho, mo) from this acoustic time-setting signal () allowing said time indication of the portable object () to be corrected. According to the present invention, the portable object may advantageously be set to the right time via an acoustic time-setting signal () transmitted for example by the loud speaker of a personal computer, a television, a radio or a telephone receiver.

The invention concerns a patch antenna () for a small-sized portable electronic instrument comprising a radiating element () separated from a ground plane () by a dielectric () and comprising feed () and ground () conductors for electrically connecting said radiating element and said ground plane () respectively, to an electric module (). The ground plane () consists of a stamped metal plate including at least a folded foot () outside said ground plane and directly connecting said ground plane () to said electronic module (), said foot () forming said ground conductor () of the antenna.

The present invention concerns a wristwatch ( ) including a case ( ) provided with a first electric conductor ( ) and an electric circuit ( ) connected to said first electric conductor, and a wristband ( ) including a second electric conductor ( ). This wristwatch is characterised in that the first and second conductors are arranged to form an electric connection without any mechanical contact and, more precisely, by capacitive coupling. One advantage of such an arrangement of the wristwatch is that it achieves an electric connection without mechanical coupling, i.e. an electric connection which does not require any additional external material arrangement other than the conventional articulation between the wristband and the case.
