Methods, apparatuses and storage medium associated with providing enhanced privacy during usage of computer vision are disclosed. In embodiments, an apparatus may include one or more privacy indicators to indicate one or more privacy conditions of the apparatus in association with provision of computer vision on the apparatus. The apparatus may further include a privacy engine coupled with the one or more privacy indicators, and configured to pre-process images from an image source of the apparatus associated with the provision of computer vision to the apparatus, to increase privacy for a user of the apparatus, and to control the one or more privacy indicators. In embodiments, the apparatus may include means for blanking out one or more pixels with depth values identified as greater than a threshold. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Enhanced privacy for provision of computer vision

Techniques are disclosed for detecting image depth in three-dimensional (3-D) surface imaging. The disclosed techniques can be used, for example, to provide structured light encoded with a coded word that includes error-correcting code (ECC). The ECC is effectively configured to detect and correct data errors as may result, for example, from the presence of ambient light and/or camera-noise-causing errors during imaging. In an example case, the coded word is a 15-bit pattern provided in a 3&#xd7;5 matrix and including: (1) nine data bits of disparity code; (2) five ECC bits for correcting an error and detecting two errors; and (3) one 8-bit/10-bit encoding bit to ensure the presence of a transient pixel in the data for white threshold level detection. Greater or lesser bit quantities and varied bit partitioning matrices can be provided, as desired. In some cases, imaging robustness and/or power usage can be improved using the disclosed techniques.

Error detecting and correcting structured light patterns

An automated system for providing a continuous yield of fresh agricultural produce. The system includes a housing including at least one zone for plant growth and at least one zone for holding automated robotic equipment. Robotic equipment includes a robotic device including at least one robotic arm for seeding seeds being stored in a seed reservoir in the seeding locations, for planting seedlings in the planting locations and for harvesting mature plants from the planting locations. Further disclosed are devices and methods for increasing efficiency of plant transfer and minimizing root damage during transfer. Further disclosed are devices and methods for increasing efficiency of plant growing, by providing oxygen dissolved in irrigation water to the plant roots.

Self contained fully automated robotic crop production facility

A method of X-ray analysis includes irradiating a spot on a sample with X-rays along an X-ray beam axis. X-rays emitted from the sample, responsive to irradiating the spot, are simultaneously detected at a plurality of different azimuthal angles relative to the beam axis. X-ray intensities detected at the different angles in a common energy range are compared in order to determine a property of the sample.

Differential measurement of X-ray microfluorescence

A PCMCIA card having cellular phone battery charging circuitry, and an adapter cable having a PCMCIA card connector equipped with a battery characteristic encoder, are provided to charge a cellular phone battery, using power supplied by a mobile PC, in accordance to battery characteristic information provided by the battery characteristic encoder. Starting and stopping of charging operation is preferably controlled by mobile PC. Furthermore, starting and stopping of charging operation is preferably automated with charging software application executing on mobile PC.
