The apparatus is a multi-speed flat belt durability tester that can simultaneously test several belts of different lengths. The tester can apply different tensions to each belt with a tension pulley powered by a hydraulic cylinder, and it monitors the tracking of the belts with photocell sensors. At least two belt test positions located at the outer edges of the apparatus include cantilevered pulley ends that greatly facilitate installation and removal of the belts being tested.

Flat belt durability tester

The disclosure relates to an operator seat sliding control console located in the cab of a combine harvester. The console contains a variety of controls and is attached to the chair and may be adjusted forward or rearward, up or down so as to suit a variety of operators or to decrease fatigue. The invention consists of a support plate attached to the chair assembly. Attached to the support plate is an inclined plate with angled inclined length. The console is slideably attached to the inclined length by a series of parallel tracks. The movement between the console and inclined length is controlled by a release mechanism. The operator moves a handle which permits the tracks to slide relative to each other. This permits the console to be placed in a comfortable position. Maintenance of the controls can be accomplished by opening the control surface by means of a console hinge. The console may also be removed by unplugging the wire harness from the harness plug and by removing four bolts in the inclined plate.

Operator seat sliding control console

The disclosure relates to a cab roof for an agricultural combine. The invention consists of an outer roof. Affixed within the outer roof is a left inner roof, right inner roof and a headliner. The left inner roof contains a fresh air duct with a fresh air inlet for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit. The left inner roof also has three light pockets. Each pocket contains either a distance or flood light fixture. Each light pocket also contains a light shroud having a top lip and an elongated bottom lip. The elongated bottom lip prevents light from reflecting off the cab glass. The right inner roof is similarly designed. The headliner contains a pair of molded conditioned air ducts for smoothly transferring conditioned air to several side defrost vents and several front defrost vents. A mirror support bar passes through the left inner roof, headliner and right inner roof. The entire roof is secured to the cab by several bolts. The entire cab can be moved by replacing the bolts with removal bolts. A worker can assemble the roof components at `bench-level` without having to climb on top of the cab.

Combine cab roof

An enclosed cab on a combine harvester has an HVAC unit and fresh air filter affixed to the exterior of the lower rear panel. The fresh air is brought through the filter and into the HVAC unit. The air is then inserted into the cab by a distribution duct. A return air filter is positioned above the lower panel so as to minimize particulates entering the return system. The engine coolant line and refrigerant line can be slid out of the unit without the need for breaking the lines.

Combine harvester cab environment system

The disclosure relates to a dual pivoting buddy seat with utility tray located near the operator's chair in the cab of a combine harvester. The seat base is pivotally attached to the storage compartment by a seat base hinge. The slide rail assembly is pivotally attached to the seat base by the seat back pivot hinge. The slide rail assembly is inserted between the utility tray and the seat back. The utility tray has a molded rail guide which receives the slide rail assembly. The seat back has a pair of slide strips which the slide rail assembly also is located. The motion of the utility tray and seat back relative to the slide rail assembly is controlled by four adjustment screws.

The disclosure relates to a cab on a combine harvester. The cab has a lower panel with four posts perpendicularly attached. An upper panel is supported by the posts. A windshield with a first compound curved glass is attached to the front. A left door and right door are pivotally affixed to the left front post and right front post respectively. Each door consists of a self-supporting compound curved glass. A rear panel has an upper rear panel, lower rear panel and a horizontal deck. The horizontal deck has two storage boxes.

The disclosure relates to a steering column which is capable of moving four ways. The steering column has a base support affixed to a horizontal cab floor. The base support has a steering motor. The steering column has an input shaft with a upper telescoping shaft. Attached to the upper telescoping shaft is the steering wheel. Also attached to the upper telescoping shaft is the upper input shaft. The first universal joint connects the upper input shaft to the inner input shaft. Torque is transferred by a key on the exterior circumference of the inner input shaft to a key slot on the interior circumference of the outer input shaft. The outer input shaft is connected to the lower input shaft by the second universal joint. The lower input shaft is connected to the steering motor. Attached to the base support is the lower pivot assembly. The lower pivot assembly rotates about the base support by actuating a lower gas cylinder. The lower pivot assembly can translate by operating the lower locking knob. The upper pivot assembly is attached to the lower pivot assembly. The upper pivot assembly can pivot by actuating an upper gas cylinder.

Shielding for a combine harvester

A rearwardly pivotable hood for enclosing a tractor engine is disclosed wherein a hinge member pivotally mounts the hood to the tractor chassis. The hinge member includes an upper hinge portion movably supported on a lower hinge portion, which is fixed to the chassis of the tractor. The upper hinge portion carries a generally transverse and horizontally extending hinge axis which is connected to the hood to allow a rearwardly pivotable movement thereof. An adjustment mechanism to provide a side-to-side movement of the hood includes a centrally positioned vertical pivot pin interconnecting the upper and lower hinge portions to define an axis of rotation about which the upper hinge portion is movable into a selected orientation relative to the lower hinge portion. A pair of bolts passing through slotted openings serve to clamp the upper and lower hinge portions together.

Tractor hood hinge mechanism

A rearwardly pivotable hood for enclosing a tractor engine is disclosed wherein a latching mechanism selectively retains the hood in a closed position. The latching mechanism includes a releasable clasp member mounted on the subframe structure supporting the air intake apparatus for the engine along a longitudinally extending centerline of the chassis forwardly of said hinge axis. The latching mechanism further includes a centrally positioned latch pin supported from the hood in alignable with the clasp member. A remote release mechanism, including a pivoted handle and a connecting linkage transferring pivotal motion of the handle to the clasp member for actuation thereof, is operable to effect actuation of the latching mechanism from a location along a transverse side of the hood. The pivoted handle can be access through the opening of the daily access door to initiate the raising of the hood for full access to the engine.

Tractor hood latch mechanism

A sealing apparatus for a tractor having a rearwardly pivotable hood for enclosing a tractor engine is disclosed wherein the top radiator seal is a closed cell foam seal affixed by adhesive to the hood structure to be compressed against the radiator when the hood is moved to the closed position. The radiator side seals are formed by rubber flapper seals bolted to the lateral sides of the radiator and compressed against the hood structure when the hood is moved to the closed position. The radiator side seals are oriented such that the pressure differential caused by the engine fan urges the side seals against the hood member. The sealing apparatus prevents hot air from re-circulating from the engine compartment to be passed back through the radiator.
