Apparatus for storing a hose or tools on a portable compressor. One embodiment of a hose storage device includes a support bar, a securing plate, and a locking bar. Another embodiment of a hose storage device includes a bracket, a hose reel, and a roller plate having a hose opening and at least one roller. One embodiment of a tool storage device includes a support structure having a top surface, a side surface, and a bottom surface. The tool storage device also includes a foam layer positioned between the top surface and the bottom surface.

Storage devices for portable compressors

A valve manifold controls hydraulic flow in a hydraulic system for an air compressor unit. The manifold includes a pressure relief valve, a cold oil bypass valve, a proportional flow valve, and an anti-cavitation valve. The pressure relief valve diverts flow away from a fan motor when the pressure of hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic system is above a predetermined level. The cold oil bypass valve diverts flow away from a hydraulic cooler when the temperature of hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic system is below a predetermined level. The proportional flow valve diverts flow away from the fan motor when the temperature of hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic system is below a predetermined level. The anti-cavitation valve prevents pressure build up within the hydraulic system when the air compressor unit is shut off.

A pump comprises a housing having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A piston is mounted for reciprocating motion in first and second directions within the housing. The housing has first and second cavities on first and second sides of the piston, respectively. The first and second cavities are fluidly coupled to the fluid inlet and fluid outlet, so that fluid is pumped to the fluid outlet when the piston moves in either of the first and second directions. A bleed valve is coupled between the first and second cavities. The bleed valve has first and second closed states and an open state. The bleed valve changes from the first closed state through the open state to the second closed state when the piston moves in the first direction. The bleed valve changes from the second closed state through the open state to the first closed state when the piston moves in the second direction.

A rotational energy storage device or spring which includes a roller-cam assembly having a shaft, a ring rotatably disposed about the shaft, and at least one roller disposed between shaft and ring. The roller is configured such that, upon rotating the ring relative to the shaft, the roller interferes with the ring and the shaft to convert and effect storage of mechanical energy created by the relative rotation of the ring and the shaft. Preferably a plurality of spaced rollers are positioned between ring and shaft. A cam geometry which is symmetrical or asymmetrical is provided on the shaft, the ring, the roller, and combinations thereof. A rotational energy storage device having a back-up ring with alternating thin and thick cross-sectional areas is further provided which is indexed to provide regions of low and high stiffness regions against each roller.
