A device can be configured to detect a physical connection with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight controller through an interface. The device can identify a UAV identifier associated with the UAV flight controller and determine, based on the UAV identifier, an application programming interface (API) for communicating with the UAV flight controller. Using the API, the device can establish a communications link with the UAV flight controller and perform an action based on the communications link.

Cellular command, control and application platform for unmanned aerial vehicles

A device may establish a first connection to a first radio access network (RAN) associated with a first radio access technology (RAT). The device may register to receive a call service via the first RAN. The device may receive the call service via the first connection. The device may establish a second connection to a second RAN associated with a second RAT that is different from the first RAT. The device may register to receive the call service via the second RAN. The device may compare a first signal quality metric, associated with the first connection, and a second signal quality metric associated with the second connection. The device may cause the call service to be transferred from the first connection to the second connection, based on comparing the first signal quality metric and the second signal quality metric, without causing an interruption to the call service.

Soft handover for a voice over internet protocol service

A method for devaluing a lost/stolen mobile device includes: receiving, by a server, a report that a mobile device is lost/stolen; suspending, by the server, a mobile identifier number associated with the mobile device, in response to the report; and transmitting, by the server, via a communication network, the suspended mobile identifier number for storage at another location. Suspending the mobile identifier number includes preventing the lost/stolen mobile device from accessing the communication network. The method includes storing the suspended mobile identifier number in an equipment identity registry database. The method further includes turning OFF Wi-Fi access, in the mobile device, in response to suspending the mobile identifier number by the server.

Devaluation of lost and stolen devices

A device may provide information for a virtual reality environment to a virtual reality device. The virtual reality device may be operated by a first party. The device may determine that the first party of the virtual reality device is placing a call to a second party from within the virtual reality environment. The device may determine connection information associated with the first party and the second party. The device may cause the call to be established between the virtual reality device and a second party device associated with the second party via a telephone network using the connection information and without the second party device connecting to the virtual reality environment. The telephone network may be located external to the virtual reality environment. The second party device may connect to the telephone network without connecting to the virtual reality environment.

Communication in a virtual reality environment

An application installed on a mobile device currently activated for service with a mobile wireless communication network captures information uniquely identifying a currently unsubscribed mobile device. The unique information may be captured from the currently unsubscribed mobile device via any of several short range transfer mechanisms. The application transfers the captured information and other information used to activate the currently unsubscribed mobile device to an activation service of the mobile wireless communication network, and the service activates the currently unsubscribed mobile device. In another example, a self-activation portal system determines an identifier of an owner of an account associated with an identifier provided by a user of a mobile device to be activated for use with a mobile wireless service. The system sends a message to the account owner offering options to accept or decline the activation request.

Remote device activation

A device includes a first type of cellular capability for connecting to a first cellular network and a second type of cellular capability for connecting to a second cellular network. The device terminates advertising of the first type of cellular capability after determining that the device is not initialized. The device also transmits a request to the second cellular network by using the second type of cellular capability; receives a name of a carrier, associated with the device, from a server and via the second cellular network; and initializes the device based on the name of the carrier.

A method for eliminating or reducing interference in a receiver, for example, interference in a satellite positioning system receiver caused by a co-located TDMA transmitter, including detecting () the presence of a jamming signal, generating a synchronous blanking signal (), and reducing the jamming signal by blanking () the receiver with a blanking signal. In one embodiment, the jamming signal is detected in the receiver, for example, at a correlator output of a satellite positioning system receiver.

The present invention relates to a method for authenticating financial transactions by using an additional factor which is not present on a physical card, and which is not used in sequential transactions. In one example, a purchaser provides card information to a merchant; the merchant transmits the card information and transaction information to an issuer; the issuer authenticates the card information, and transmits verification indicia to a target address associated with the card information. The purchaser target address may be the telephone number of a mobile telephone of the purchaser or a third party (e.g. parent). The purchaser or third party provides the verification indicia to a merchant; and the merchant transmits the verification indicia back to the issuer. The issuer authenticates that the received verification indicia relative to that sent to the target address, and thus the purchaser is the genuine or authentic person authorized to use card information; and the issuer approves the transaction.
