One or more non-transitory computer memory devices can store computer-readable instructions that, when executed by computing circuitry, cause the computing circuitry to perform operations for generating augmented reality cosmetic design filters. The operations can include defining a baseline description of a biological surface using one or more radiation sensors, the radiation sensors being electronically coupled with the computing circuitry. The operations can include identifying an application of a cosmetic formulation to the biological surface using one or more of the radiation sensors. The operations can include generating a trace describing the application in reference to the baseline description. The operations can also include outputting the trace.

Devices, systems, and methods for applying cosmetic designs to biological subjects are provided. An applicator array device may include a substrate. The applicator array device may also include, a plurality of applicator elements disposed on the substrate, together defining an applicator array. Each applicator element may include an applicator member having a length substantially orthogonal to an outer surface of the substrate, a first portion of the length extending from the outer surface of the substrate and a second portion of the applicator member extending through the substrate. The first portion may define a first end and the second portion may define a second end opposite the first end. Methods may include identifying one or more treatment regions overlapping the photo-responsive material. The treatment regions may be identified at least in part to apply the contouring treatment. Methods may include determining an irradiation profile for each of the one or more treatment regions to contour each respective treatment region as part of applying the contouring treatment. Methods may also include irradiating the photo-responsive material at the one or more treatment regions in accordance with the respective irradiation profiles. Irradiating the photo-responsive material may induce a localized change in shape of the photo-responsive material in the respective treatment regions.

Devices, systems, materials, and methods for contouring a volume of hair are described. A hair contouring device can include a contouring source. The contouring source can be configured to generate contouring electromagnetic radiation within a first energy range to induce a conformation change of a hydrogel formulation. The hair contouring device can include a fixing source. The fixing source can be configured to generate curing electromagnetic radiation within a second energy range to induce a photo-curing transition of the hydrogel formulation. The hair contouring device can include an input component. The hair contouring device can also include control circuitry, electrically coupled with the contouring source, the fixing source, and the input component. The control circuitry can be configured to receive an input from the input component and to control the contouring source or the fixing source in accordance with the input.

The method comprises determining, by a computing device, an exposure amount of a pollutant impacting a subject's skin; determining, by the computing device, a damage assessment of the subject's skin based on the type of pollutant and amount of pollutant exposure; and providing, by the computing device, at least one skincare product recommendation to the subject, wherein the recommendation is directed to repair or prevent damage to the skin provided in the damage assessment.

A computer system obtains at least one 3D scan of a body surface; automatically identifies, based on the at least one 3D scan, one or more features (e.g., nose, lips, eyes, eyebrows, cheekbones, or specific portions thereof, or other features) of the body surface; and generates a digital 3D model of the body surface. The digital 3D model includes the identified features of the human body surface. In an embodiment, the step of generating of the digital 3D model is based on the at least one 3D scan and the identified features of the body surface. In an embodiment, the digital 3D model comprises a 3D mesh file. The digital 3D model can be used in various ways. For example, output of a manufacturing process (e.g., a 3D printed item, a cosmetics product, a personal care product) can be based on the digital 3D model.

Generation of digital 3D models of body surfaces with automatic feature identification

A computer system obtains a digital 3-dimensional model of a body surface, such as a human face. Portions of the surface correspond to reference points in the model. The system obtains image data of a personal care device in use as well as image data of the surface on which the model is based. The system calculates a relative location of the device relative to the reference points based on the image data of the surface. The system determines a true position of the device with respect to the surface based on the image data of the device in use, known physical dimensions of the device, and its relative location, even when the device is partially occluded from view. The system may, based on the true position of the device, cause device to perform actions such as application of a cosmetic or administration of a skin therapy.

The applicator array device may include a plurality of applicator elements disposed on the substrate, together defining an applicator array. The applicator array device may also include an applicator surface overlying the applicator array.
