A recreational vehicle is made up of a pickup truck, a camper which is releasably mounted on the pickup truck and includes an accessway between the cab of the pickup truck and the camper, and a trailer which communicates with the camper through an articulated passage or walkway to permit movement of occupants between the camper and trailer while the vehicle is in motion.

A controlled weight-lowering device is presented which allows an individual to descend from a building at a predetermined rate of descent. The device can be permanently attached to the building or it can be portable. The device has an outer bracket which is securely attached to the inside of the building. Rotating about a shaft attached to the bracket is a cylindrical winding drum. The drum has a rope wound around it that is attached to a harness. The individual puts on the harness he desires to descend. Inside the winding drum is an inner gear pump and valve mechanism which is surrounded by an oil reservoir. Oil is allowed to go into the gear set chamber and circulates past the gears. The rate of flow of the oil out of the gear set chamber is regulated by a spring biased tapered piston. As the strength of the spring biasing is set on the piston, the rate of flow of oil within the gear set chamber is regulated. Because the gear set is connected to the cylindrical axis of the winding drum, controlling the rate of flow of oil, which controls the rate of rotation of the gears, also controls the rate of rotation of the drum.

A method and system for tracking the position of at least one moving object, such as, an airborne meteorological instrument from a ground processing station by intercepting wideband spread spectrum signals transmitted from a plurality of satellites in which the code sequence of the signals is not known comprises a receiver circuit in the moving object which compresses the wideband signals received into a narrow band, removes any frequency bias with a reference oscillator having a frequency offset value, forms a narrow analog base-band and transmits to the processing station at which spectral lines are produced and compared with synthetic spectrum values to determine the identity of each satellite, the reference oscillator frequency offset value is estimated, and the location and velocity of the moving object is determined.

Method and apparatus for tracking the position and velocity of airborne

A relative humidity sensor includes a printed circuit board having a central passageway therethrough and a dielectric film extending across the passageway with electrodes mounted on that portion of the film in the passageway so as to generate a capacitance which will vary directly with the amount of moisture content in the film.

A radiosonde has a novel and improved measuring circuitry for measuring atmospheric conditions, such as, temperature, humidity and pressure through the direct conversion of resistance and capacitance values into binary numbers. The binary numbers are transmitted in digital form along with calibration coefficients to a remote ground station. The measuring circuitry can be mounted on the same substrate with the pressure transducer, and the electrical connections between the pressure transducer and measuring circuitry are simplified by utilization of an offset diaphragm, pressure cell arrangement.

Meteorological data encoder for measuring atmospheric conditions

An anemometer for sensing shaft speed rotation includes a series of circumferentially spaced, radially extending arms and a corresponding series of wind cups, each disposed at an outer radial end of one of the arms. Each arm terminates at its inner end in a hub sector correspondingly formed as a portion of a central hub and correspondingly includes circumferentially extending, complementary offset portions and fasteners for releasably interlocking the offset portions of overlappingly to define the common central hub. The hub-connecting portion is mounted on the anemometer shaft by connector means.

Modular cup-type anemometer

A radiosonde is conformable for use either as a disposable sonde in which the device will ascend vertically to a predetermined altitude and when the balloon from which it is suspended bursts at a maximum altitude the sonde will automatically flip over and autogyrate at a reduced rate of descent back to earth; or may be used as a tethered radiosonde in which it is suspended from a tethered balloon in such a way as to be freely rotatable about a substantially horizontal axis. In either version, the sonde is characterized by a generally helicoidal propeller construction having thermistor-receiving end tips and whereby the propellers will impart sufficient spin or rotation to the sonde as to cause the desired degree of aspiration to provide accurate wet bulb psychometric measurements; and further the propeller construction is such as to permit freefall at a reduced controlled rate of speed without the assistance of a parachute.
