A system for monitoring a bed of a vehicle is provided. The system includes a display, an input device, a first imaging device configured to capture one or more images of a bed of the vehicle, and a controller. The controller receives a first signal indicating a first activation of the input device, determines whether a speed of the vehicle is greater than a threshold in response to a receipt of the first signal, and instructs the display to display an image of the bed captured by the first imaging device for a first predetermined time in response to determining that the vehicle speed is greater than the threshold and in response to the receipt of the first signal.

Methods and systems for monitoring a bed view for a vehicle

Methods and systems may provide for technology to identify one or more light sources. The technology generates a light reflection profile associated with the one or more light sources. The light reflection profile is to predict one or more of reflection characteristics of light emitted from the one or more light sources or identify at least one characteristic of the one or more light sources. The technology further one or more of adjusts a first image based on the light reflection profile or identify one or more characteristics of a first object in the first image based on the light reflection profile.

Image and object detection enhancement based on lighting profiles

Methods, systems, and apparatus for providing a view of an environment behind a vehicle. The system includes a camera located on a track and connected to the vehicle, the camera configured to detect image data of the environment behind the vehicle. The system also includes an actuator configured to move a position of the camera along the track. The system includes an electronic control unit (ECU) configured to determine, based on the image data, whether the view of the environment behind the vehicle is obscured. The ECU is configured to adjust, using the actuator, the position of the camera along the track when the view of the environment behind the vehicle is obscured until the view of the environment behind the vehicle is unobscured or less obscured. The system includes a rear-view mirror connected to the ECU and configured to display the view of the environment behind the vehicle.

E-mirror automatic position adjustment system

Some objects in an external environment of a vehicle may be difficult to detect by a human driver or by vehicle sensors. Such object may be indirectly detected using information in the external environment of the vehicle. Sensor data of the external environment of the vehicle can be acquired using one or more sensors, which can be located onboard the vehicle. An external transmitter or transmission can be detected based on the acquired sensor data. The acquired sensor data can also be used to identify the external transmitter or transmission. A shadow can be detected in the acquired sensor data. An object in the external environment can be detected using at least in part the detected shadow. In some instances, a characteristic associated with the identified external transmitter or transmission can also be used to detect the object and/or one or more characteristics of the object.

Object detection using shadows

A vehicle includes upright sides, a hitch point between the upright sides, an interior display, and a control module communicatively connected with the display. The control module is configured to, in response to a backup event, operate the display during the backup event to display an area behind the vehicle, general-purpose steering guidelines, and a trailer-hitching steering guideline. The general-purpose steering guidelines lead from the upright sides, indicate a projected locus of the vehicle, and have a reach that is maintained regardless of changing steering angles. The trailer-hitching steering guideline leads from the hitch point, indicates a projected path of the hitch point, and has a reach that is adjusted based on changing steering angles.
