The present disclosure is directed to transforming a data set of discrete records, tracing unrelated entries across the records, and verifying the traces using independently-sourced external data. In one aspect, a system includes memory and one or more processors configured to execute the computer-readable instructions to receive a first set of data, the first data set including multiple discrete financial records of an entity; apply a set of logics to the first data set to identify a plurality of traces, each of the plurality of traces associating discrete entries across one or more of the multiple financial records; performing a verification process to verify the plurality of traces against a second data set for the entity, the second data set being independently sourced from a third party entity to yield a verification result; and prepare an output of the verification result to be presented on a display.

System and method for data synchronization and verification

A scent dispenser/absorber includes a container, an invertible lid reversibly attached to an open end of the container, a vented cage, and a scent cartridge housed within the cage. In an 'off' condition or state, the scent cartridge/cage combination is received in an interior chamber of the container, where the scent cartridge is out of communication with the surrounding environment and therefore incapable of performing scent dispensing or absorbing functions. The scent dispenser/absorber can be switched to an “on” condition or state by manually inverting the lid and, in some cases, the associated cage/scent cartridge combination, such that the scent cartridge can be positioned externally of the container, where it can communicate with the surrounding environment to perform a desired scent dispensing or absorbing function. In an “on” condition, scent molecules originating from an odorant contained in the scent cartridge are diffused into the surrounding environment.

A scent absorber/dispenser is disclosed. The scent dispenser/absorber has a housing having a base and a cover that cooperate to form an interior chamber of the housing. The dispenser can take the form of an individual dispenser/absorber housing, or a dual dispenser absorber made of two housings are arranged in piggyback (i.e., back-to-back) fashion. The interior chamber of each scent dispenser/absorber is configured to receive scent means adapted to perform either a scent-absorbing function or a scent-emitting function. To use the scent dispenser/absorber, the cover of one or more housings can be moved away from its respective base to expose diffusion ports in a sidewall of the base, thereby permitting desirable scents to flow from the corresponding scent means of the one or more housings to the surrounding environment, or undesirable odors in the surrounding environment to flow into the aforesaid scent means.

A scent dispenser/absorber includes a pair of cylindrical housing members arranged coaxially about a common longitudinal axis such that the inner housing member is rotatably received in an interior chamber of the outer housing member. Each housing member has a peripheral sidewall provided with a set of radially extending apertures. A scent cartridge is removably disposed within an interior chamber of the inner housing member to absorb undesirable odors, or to emit desirable scents. By manually controlling the relative rotational positions of the housing members, a user can align or misalign the two sets of apertures, thereby enabling or disabling the transfer of scents or odors between the scent cartridge and the surrounding environment.

The invention is directed to a primary data storage system for use in a computer network in which a network allows user computers to transfer data to/from the primary data storage system. In one embodiment, the primary data storage system allows an administrator of the computer network to define two or more volumes on the primary data storage system and define quality of service goals for each volume. The primary data storage system operates so as allocate resources within the primary data storage system to the volumes based upon criticality and performance goals specified for each of the volumes.

An ambient environment modification mechanism such as a scent dispenser (which could also act as a filter) which may comprise a piston and a piston cylinder, receiving the piston, and forming a piston cylinder chamber volume when the piston is moved from an inserted position in the piston cylinder to a withdrawn position in the piston cylinder. The piston may have a hollow interior receiving an ambient air modification material holder, such as a cartridge, containing ambient air modification material. The hollow interior may be in fluid communication with the piston cylinder chamber volume at a first end of the hollow interior. A ventilation opening may be in fluid communication with the hollow interior at a second end of the hollow interior. A piston cylinder chamber volume forming mechanism, such as spring may move the piston relative to the piston cylinder from the inserted position to the withdrawn position.

Methods and systems for managing user access to a storage system controller are provided. In particular, user login requirements and permissions are administered, and individual user and external user interface pairs are tracked, through a user table and a session table established as part of the storage system controller. The external user interfaces may be interconnected to the storage system controller through different networks and/or protocols. User authentication and access levels are established with reference to a user table, while sessions for different user and external interface pairs are maintained in the session table.

Methods and systems for managing user access to a storage system storage controller are provided. In particular, user login requirements and permissions are administered, and individual user and external user interface pairs are tracked, through a user table and a session table established as part of the storage system controller. The external user interfaces may be interconnected to the storage system controller through different networks and/or protocols. Notification of events to external interfaces is performed as part of a task running on the storage system controller. In particular, an event notification manager determines whether notification of an event should be provided in connection with active sessions, with the result that the storage system controller only sends notification of events that have not previously been reported to a user and external interface pair.

A heads-up speed sensing display and control system for apprising an operator of the risk of operating a vehicle at various speeds has a risk indicator display with a plurality of illuminable elements, such as three different colored LEDs, illuminable in a plurality of patterns, each of the plurality of patterns having a predetermined correlation to vehicle speed, such as green for safe, yellow for caution and red for hazardous. A speed sensor, such as a Hall-effect device is coupled to a driven element of the vehicle, like a speedometer cable, and causes the speed sensor to generate a signal indicative of vehicle speed. A control unit receives the speed signal and selects an illumination pattern to indicate the risk of operation at the speed the vehicle is then traveling. The display may be wired or wireless and be attached to a windshield, face guard or helmet. The display system may be customizable to the operator and the environmental conditions and may be coordinated with a signage system using the same risk indicator conventions. The indicator system may also be used as a governor. In yet another embodiment, GPS data is used in a lookup table to ascertain the speed limit for the operation of the vehicle at any given time and place. The speed limit information is used to inform a governor which reduces vehicle speed to the ascertained limit. The ascertained speed limit may be used to select a risk indicator pattern for the actual operating speed of the device.
