An expandable osteosynthesis implant has branches () each connected at one end to a seat () which is pierced by an orifice (), suitable for being slid from a posterior direction between the facing faces of two consecutive vertebrae in order to hold them a given distance apart and restore stability of the spinal column. According to the invention, said branches () and said seat () define a hollow cage () which, in a 'rest' position, has an outside general shape that is a cylinder of circular section, and a portion at least of the inside volume () of the cage () towards the distal ends of said branches () is in the form of a circular truncated cone whose large base is towards said seat () which implant has at least three branches () and, inside said inside volume () at least one spacer () suitable for passing through said orifice () and the large base of the truncated cone.

Expandable osteosynthesis cage

An implant of the intersomatic cage type, for fusion of vertebral bodies by a transforaminal approach, is disclosed that comprises a body with a curved profile that is designed to be implanted between the vertebral plates of two adjacent vertebrae. According to the invention, said body of curved profile comprises a posterior maneuvering part and an anterior attack part, said anterior attack part being composed of a lower tongue and of an upper tongue that are designed to receive between them a spacer element that can slide between a position of introduction, in which it is situated near said posterior maneuvering part, and a spacing position, in which it is situated near the end of said anterior attack part, thus increasing the thickness of the latter by spreading the tongues apart, said spacer element comprising a receiving seat that is open at the top and bottom.

Expandable cage for vertebral surgery involving lumbar intersomatic fusion by a transforaminal posterior approach

The disclosure relates to an expanding device intended to be implanted between the vertebral end-plates of two adjacent vertebrae, in particular for a stabilization operation for intervertebral fusion. The inventive device comprises: a cage forming a peripheral part that surrounds a central cavity, said peripheral part being formed by a leading edge and a thicker manipulation edge which are connected by two lateral edges provided with lateral housings; and a retractor received in the lateral housings, which can be moved between an insertion position, in which it is located close to the manipulation edge, and a locking position, in which it is located at the leading edge, increasing the height of same. The invention is characterized in that the retractor is provided with abutment means designed to maintain the retractor in the locking position and to oppose the release of the retractor from the cage.
