The present invention relates to ink jet recording media that are useful for making temporary tattoo images on human skin or other surfaces. The media comprise a water-soakable release-paper substrate coated with an ink jet imaging layer. The substrate is optionally coated with a water-insoluble protective layer. The media may further comprise a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape having a backing coated with a medical adhesive layer.

Ink jet recording media for use in making temporary tattoos and processes thereof

The present invention is directed to an ink jet recording medium, and more particularly to an ink jet recording medium prepared with an ink absorbent coating that is used to receive aqueous dye-based ink. The ink absorbent coating comprises a blend of at least one cellulose ether and stilbene optical brightener. The medium has a &Dgr;E value of no greater than about 5, as measured according to CIE 1976 (L*a*b*) uniform color scale method, after the medium has been imaged with a magenta color-image.

The present invention is directed to an ink-receiving sheet having anti-blocking properties, containing (A) a polymer substrate; (B) an ink-receptive coating disposed on at least one layer which having a water-soluble component; and (C) particulates dispersed in the ink-receptive coating, having an average particle size of from 15 um to about 50 um, a particle size span is equal to or smaller than 1.0, and a refractive index of from about 1.2 to about 2.4. Annotatable ink jet recording media

A multilayer polymeric film composite for use in the electrostatic recording process is disclosed. The film composite comprises an image receptive layer having a surface abrasivity of about 0.015 inch to about 0.085 inch and a surface roughness of about 30 to about 180 cc of air/minute, an electronically conductive layer and a supporting layer. A transport assisting layer can be coated on the side opposite to the imaging side to give a four layer film composite which provides the required friction and surface roughness to allow the film to be driven smoothly through the printing equipment. Control of the abrasivity and surface roughness of the image receptive layer is used to obtain excellent image quality. The film composite provides high image quality over a wide range of humidities and archival properties.
