Addition to organosilicon compounds having at least one alkyl group attached to a silicon atom, at least one hydrogen atom being attached to the carbon atom adjacent the silicon atom, of a fluorocompound, which may be a fluoroolefin, a perfluoroketone, or a perfluoroether having a carbon-carbon double bond in .alpha.-position to the ether oxygen atom, give fluorine-containing organosilicon compounds. These adducts may be liquid or solid and are useful as (1) lubricants and sealants for automotive and aerospace industries (2) fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, and (3) siloxane elastomers having good oil and lubricant resistance.

Fluorine containing organosilicon compounds

Fluorinated allylisocyanurates are extremely efficient gelling agents for fluoroelastomers. Blends of fluorinated allylisocyanurate gelled fluoroelastomers with non-gelled fluoroelastomers have improved processability as compared with non-gelled fluoroelastomers and blends of other gelled fluoroelastomers with non-gelled fluoroelastomers.

S-Triazine-2,4,6-triones

A fluoropolymer composition useful in the manufacture of cured fluoropolymer articles can be made by mixing a specified copolymer with an organic peroxide such as a dialkyl peroxide, and preferably also adding a divalent metal oxide and/or hydroxide and a suitable coagent such as triallyl isocyanurate. This composition contains a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a small amount (e.g. about 0.5-3 mole %) of a bromine-containing olefin with certain fluorine-containing compounds.

Fluoropolymer composition

A peroxide curable composition of an elastomeric unsaturated ethylene/C.sub.3 -C.sub.18 .alpha.-monoolefin/nonconjugated diene copolymer (EODM) containing at least about 0.1 weight percent allylic bromine, at least 20 phr of a hydrocarbon extending oil, about 1-5 phr (active ingredient) of an organic peroxide curing agent, and an unsaturated peroxide activator.

Peroxide vulcanization of oil-extended elastomeric ethylene copolymers

A novel fluoropolymer can be made by copolymerizing a small amount (e.g. about 0.5-3 mole %) of bromotrifluoroethylene or bromotetrafluorobutene with certain combinations of monomers comprising selected fluorine-containing compounds. A fluoropolymer composition useful in the manufacture of cured fluoropolymer articles can be made by mixing the resulting fluoropolymer or a closely related fluoropolymer with an organic peroxide such as a dialkyl peroxide, and preferably also adding a divalent metal oxide and/or hydroxide and a suitable coagent such as triallyl isocyanurate.
